Read the intro this morning and plan on reading the rest throughout the day. I think you and I write about music in a similar way, so I was definitely vibing with what you were putting down in those first few paragraphs. Looking forward to reading the rest -- especially since I love so many albums on your list!

 

Yeah, I haven't been able to make my way through the bottom half of yours yet. How long did it take you to write all that? I probably dropped 15 hours into it this week, including like an hour at 1am formatting and linking to things that I imagine no one will click.

I mainly wrote in depth about my top three albums, but gave a nod to every album on my list. We definitely both think about music writing as more of a personal journal of record vs as a recommendation machine.

 

Oh man, I have no idea, re: hours. I figured out a few years ago when I did those decade lists that the only way I could do stuff like this anymore was little bits at a time. I started in late November and wrote a little bit most nights before bed. I think I'd go insane if I tried to do it all in one go.

 

Yeah, I don’t do full on write ups for every record in my top 50 anymore, but when I used to I’d have to start in like a October or November and basically just start knocking out ones that I absolutely knew were shoo ins. Now I’ll just kinda do little blurbs on IG stories and write them on the fly
