I beat the third boss in high on life and the guns really are the best part with their unique abilities and the combos you can do.

Idk if I’m going to 100% the game but I would hate having to backtrack and all that.

  2. Tried buying Slay the Spire and Hollow Knight through my phone but the Steam app is having trouble with PayPal, I guess I'll try again at home, and hopefully also transfer my Gamepass saves

    Player's Log:

I took a break from Airport Dogs for a bit and played a couple other games.

Alpaca Stacka: an extremely short 3D platformer that was fun for the brief time I played it. Literally scour a small area for five baby chicks, put them back in their pen, and that's it. Game Over. Six easy achievements. Interested to see what the creators do next though.

Apocalipsis: a point and click adventure game, which was okay. It's interesting for two reasons: one, it's narrated by Nergal from the band Behemoth. Don't get too excited, metal fans. It's nothing special and he doesn't do a whole lot of narration. It's a gimmick, really.

The other interesting thing is this. After finishing both character routes, you're supposed to be able to go from the main menu to a final area where you earn the last achievement, and what I assume is the true ending of the game. Except imagine my surprise when I don't find that option available to me.

I wasn't able to find any concrete evidence, but what I can only assume is that a final bit of DLC that got released for console versions never actually found its way to the Steam version. Really annoys me. Why do that, developer?

    Player's Log:

Airport Dog Game: I got a couple more achievements, went to a couple more airports, and it's occurring to me that the majority of the game is achievementless. The only remaining achievements I have involve going to each airport, but that no longer strikes me as the objective of the game, so much as the context in which it travels.

What I mean is that the story progresses by you meeting up with your significant other in various places and then being directed to the next destination, but there are other side quests you can undertake to try to solve the problems of particular dogs.

This game is fun and interesting in that regard, but frankly, the whole airport scenario is getting old fast, and I kind of wish I could just enjoy the game without having to worry about getting my ticket, getting to my gate, etc.

Unfortunately, there's no way around that, so I might just play this game a little bit at a time so as not to overly frustrate myself. In the meantime, I'll try some other games, like...

The Amber Throne: This is another RPGMaker game in the vein of Machina, except this is far more stylized, balanced, and just overall more interesting than that other game. It's very straightforward in terms of combat so far, but frankly, that's a blessing to me. I'm down for just a bare bones, no frills, RPG romp.

I'm just going to wait for Sports Story to be patched since apparently it has so many performance issues and bugs.

This game is really good, btw. It's a collectathon with less focus on platforming and more on exploration and puzzle solving. Highly recommend it to any fan of the genre.
