I just saw a venue in Chicago announce the show and it looks like some other venues have individually

Bands aren't announcing tour dates this week my booty.

 

Don't know if its been posted but bandsintown has Norma Jean/Fire From The Gods/Greyhaven dates up

 

If these bands had competent managers, they wouldn't be announcing tours this week.

 

i don't think the fellas in artificial brain or vader really give a shit tbh. that vader tour is gonna do alright on its own in the death metal world because it's vader doing a 40th anniversary run.

 

Why hypothetically would anyone refrain from announcing this week lol it's not like the shows are on Christmas

 

like i could see the argument for a major stadium or arena level tour not to be announced this week, but these are all tours hitting sub-500 cap rooms minus the loa/sick of it all one which might be hitting some small rooms considering the chicago area date is in mcherny. there isn't any reason to hold back. get that shit out there.

 

The week of Christmas everyone is focused on simply that...Christmas.

 

most of the industry just tends to avoid announce/onsale the weeks of major holidays. the public is theoretically too busy to pay attention and buy tickets, and the industry tasked to facilitate it is checked out.

actually a little surprised to see so many get announced today, but as said above, these are sub-500 bands, and it kinda ultimately doesn't make a difference.

 

Apparently a Weezer tour announcement is imminent

 

A tour announcement? During Christmas week? In this economy?

 

They said they've got a big tour announcement for 2023, but I doubt we get it before the new year.
