I dont know ha. I just get that vibe from his demeanor. Probably doesn't help that I'll always see his laughing smug face from after Kane missed :(

He's young and almost on top of the football world so he's got a decade of football to change my opinion.

    No denying his talent though.

The 2026 World Cup: 48 teams, more groups, more venues, more games

Pretty cool to see what teams would have made this tourney, and that goes a long way towards helping me get used to this. But the structure seems inevitably awful and the proposal to keep only one team per continent in a group seems destined to give us a strongly European round of 32 or 16.

There is literally nothing wrong with the current World Cup, they do not need to "reinvent the wheel" but as always with FIFA money talks. Expanding it to allow more teams to enter just gives the big boys an easier way to pick up points - 99% of fans loved Morocco's journey this World Cup because a smaller nation going far in a tournament is something that is universally enjoyed; how about FIFA focus on trying to build a fairer, even more competitive World Cup by supporting football infrastructure in nations from Africa/Asia/CONCACAF rather than giving the usual suspects from Europe and South America an even easier route to the later stages of the tournament?

FIFA are not expanding to give the big FAs an advantage. I bet the big FAs would prefer the current format. They are expanding because it gives Infantino more votes from smaller nations that profit from the expansion. It's basically a bribe to secure getting re-elected. Blatter did this all time and Infantino has learned well from him.

Is this the first time an active MLS player has reached the World Cup final?

I think this is replacing the current Club World Cup that only has 6 teams every January. Fabrizio forgot a Club in his first sentence.

I think I read that this is true on ESPN yesterday.

Varane and Konate apparently have the same severe flu symptoms that kept Rabiot and Upamecano out of the semi.

It was awesome. Robert sounded impeccably good. Great setlist. They played a few new songs, one of which felt like an instant classic. Easily one of my favourite gigs of the year.

Mostly agree/first XI is 100% it. Bounou as bench keeper over Szcezny. Homer pick in Ream as bench defender over Rodri because of being nearly perfect in the group stages. Julian Alvarez absolutely changed their team when entered so him over Ziyech/Saka. The Croatian wingback whose name I’m forgetting was pretty great vs Mbappe/the whole tournament, too.

    Incredible free kick routine, that.

Commentator: You have to wonder why the [Qatari] referee was given this match after not reffing anything since USA-Wales.

Me: No you don’t. It’s obvious.

  24. There should a documentary on this French team right? They’ve had so much drama off the field the last several years. And yet they have been very successful.

The run is impressive but they’ve made 4 of the last 7 cup finals, pretty sick of them lol
