I honestly disagree. Both teams have gotten away with murder at times, and I think he’s simultaneously wanting to get his cards out and stamp authority, and afraid of actually sending someone off.

 

I’d argue Parades and Timber should be off.

Correa or Dybala seem like obvious creative subs to break down the defense with Messi... but no idea who you take off.

 

Timber should be, really. Simply judging by Lahoz’ refereeing. Players were getting soft yellows on one foul, Timber goes and has 3 or so subsequent fouls after getting the yellow as soft as they are and no second yellow. He’s lacked any sort of consistency in this game.

 

It's very easy to point out teams and players bottling it in these situations but honestly... I'd be terrified out there. I'm tense sat at home and I'm not even that bothered who wins.
