see that people are talking about the leak, scrolled to the bottom of the page to not be spoiled haha. i'll be back tomorrow after my first listen. I've definitely listened to plenty of leaks over the years, but at least for me, knowing this is the final album, think i'll listen for the first time on it's proper release day. hope everyone's enjoying it and can't wait to discuss it!

OK, made it through the night without listening to the leak. Just 24 hours to go and I think the wait will be worth it. I think I can make it. Anyway, just finished my listen of LaS, which I still really like a lot. But Make Me So might be my least favorite Yellowcard song ever. It might've fit well on Southern Air or WYTTSY, but in the context of LaS, it just completely kills the mood that the album is trying to set. Other than that, I think the album is great.

So, after listening to their entire discography, I list their albums like this (keep in mind, I do love all of these, even the one that's last on my list):
    1. PW
    2. (Tie) SA/L&S
    4.OA
    5. LaS
    6. WYTTSY
    7. OftK

I'm hoping for the new one to be up their, too. I'm just worried that, now, my expectations are way too high.

Couple tracks on the new album kind of drag on, but still miles better than Lift A Sail.

I was worried that my expectations were too high as well, but this easily met them.

it's crazy, right? Don't forget about Taking Back Sunday as well. They just released a pretty solid album.

I think if I had to rank at this point:

    Southern Air
    Yellowcard
    Lift a Sail
    Paper Walls
    Ocean Avenue
    When You're Through Thinking...
    Lights & Sounds
    One for the Kids

Listened to L&S yesterday and enjoyed it more than I probably ever have before, so that's something. I agree with @FTank that this new album has some similarities to it.

there are a lot of violin parts but not a lot of orchestral string parts. Album is definitely the result of a band saying their goodbye as just kind of the band, which i love. they did all of the big tricks on life a sail

just let the end of fields and fences hit me so hard.. like pictured all of my memories with the band as the violin played that beautiful melody at the end. Teared up not gonna lie

Fields & Fences sounds like two songs in one. Almost like the second half of the song is a hidden track and their final farewell to the fans

Ive been listening to the album since yesterday...

Huge Yellowcard fan here since 2005 and listening their albuns non stop since them, so its easy for me to do my own rank.

Well, about the self titled, really good one, i think all the songs have the goodbye vibe and they did it pretty well... Its funny that Rest In Peace and Hurt Is Gone didn't impressed me at the beginning but hearing the whole album made it a lot better...

My favorites are probably A Place We Set a Fire, Wrecking Ball, Savior's Robes, Fields & Fences. Empty Streets comes first... Incredible how a song that i already knew since Big If could brings something more after 7 years from the release... Such a powerfull song and made me cry a little.

Really liked the whole vibe of the album and how the songs starts, their intros are always phenomenal.

    So, my Top 8:

    1 - Lift A Sail
    2 - Lights and Sounds
    3 - Southern Air
    4 - Paper Walls
    5 - Yellowcard
6 - When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes
    7 - Ocean Avenue
8 - One for the Kids

And maybe if i had to do a Top 10 tracks of all of the albums would be something like this (not including bsides or demos and not in a particular order):

    1 - Waiting Game
2 - Martin Sheen or JFK
    3 - Holly Wood Died
4 - You and Me and One Spotlight
    5 - Paper Walls
    6 - Only One
    7 - Empty Street
8 - Sleep in the Snow
    9 - Southern Air
    10 - The Deepest Well

If any of Yellowcard members end up reading this, thanks for everything... I already said this a lot of times on Twitter and Instagram but i cant thanks enough for everything you guys made for me through your music.

Ocean Avenue was there when i was having to move to another city far from my family to start living alone, Lights and Sounds was the soundtrack of my first break up, listened Southern Air and Lift A Sail a lot going to beaches and discovering some places in this world and seeing how beautiful the world is and how good its to be alive and now you guy just gave me this album to be the one that will holds me when my favorite band are breaking up... I am deeply sad cause i always thought that you guys deserved more recognition for everything and, even with almost 20 years i was sure that one day Yellowcard would get bigger and people would start to realize how good you guys are, but at the same time im glad that i had the chance to have this band by my side supporting me and being the soundtrack of my life.

You guys will never be forgotten, not for me... And i will keep spreading the word and showing your songs to my friends who dont know much about the band, and believe me, i do that a lot... And people are always surprised for how good you guys are.

    Thank you!

I'm gonna listen to that one again later today, so we'll see.

Ranking wise, it's hard to tell yet... but I do think this new one will be no lower than third.

    Oh hell yes.

i couldn't read past your mention of the empty apartment bridge. Didn't wanna start crying in class.

No break up has hit me this hard. I have The Dear Hunter tonight, class/HW tomorrow, then a party tomorrow night, and I legit don't know when I'll listen to this because I know I'm going to get emotional.

we've seen the shadow of the axe before Supporter

I was able to listen to the first half this morning during my commute to work. And while I did enjoy what I heard, it seemed to be missing that distinguished, catchiness that seemingly all of their other albums have. I did notice it seemed to be a lot darker than anything else I've heard from Yellowcard though. Still need to finish the second half and give it a few more spins.

  25. alright, pressing play. I'm sad
