It’s still bizarre to me that they didn’t play last year

 

I'm legit shocked at how high up Be Your Own Pet is on that line-up. I had no idea they were back, but that's rad as hell!

If this were my local festival I would 100% buy a ticket for Friday and Saturday. Sunday has some good acts too, but I'm not sure I could justify the price to see Future Islands, Fidlar, and Off! Hah.

Would I go again? Probably not, but I'd be more tempted if it as at a different location with more transit options, tbh.

 

This kinda feels like they have a location. It's just not fully signed off on or whatever just yet.

 

If they're doing early bird passes this year, maybe it will be at the end of this 12 Days of Deez Dealz thing?

People like to shit on Lollapalooza for whatever reasons but the truth is the festival is the best because the location is great. There’s easy access to everything: pretty much every subway line, Metra, bus lines, and hotels. Plus when you leave the festival you’re in the loop which is a bit more safer than North Lawndale (not that that area is unsafe at all, but if you stray from the crowds it can be a bit sketchy).

Obviously Riot Fest cannot be in Grant Park and locations to hold the festival are limited, but ONE subway line and a very few bus lines for the size of the festival is just not it. It is more and more clear each year they have outgrown the area. I just do not know where they can go that has all the above I mentioned Lollapalooza has in terms of location.

 

Death Grips accidentally dropped that they’re playing Riot next year lol

 

It’s staying in Chicago. Death grips is playing the 16th according to their tour poster

 

Well yeah, I don’t think there was any question it was not leaving Chicago or the Chicago area, but it’s still up in the air exactly where the festival will be held (and they have been ambiguous about the location still).

Death Grips playing will be dope, I’ve never seen them live but I feel like I need to at least once.

 

This also gives us the dates too. September 15-17.

I don’t really know this guy and he doesn’t seem like Riot’s wheelhouse but there’s no Chicago date and a Detroit show on September 16.

Edit: There’s a Toronto show the 17th which I missed so maybe scratch my thought here.

Doible Edit: He has shows all 3 days of Riot so nevermind, disregard lol. I cannot read apparently.

As of what's leaked thus far, I'm seeing Maryland on 9/14 then Michigan on 9/17
