That’s where I am as well, but haven’t played in a couple days because of Pokémon lol.

  2. I keep falling in and out of love with Ragnarok. Right now I'm kinda just bored and annoyed.

I got slowed down a little bit in the Jotenheim section. I liked it in theory but it just felt like it went a little longer than it needed too.

I may or may not have just used an exploit to unlock all the achievements in Grounded within 5 minutes. Lol

Player's Log: Machina Of The Planet Tree: Planet Ruler.

    I give up.

I feel bad saying that, as I'm actually really close to the final area of the game, but I've run into this boss that has this one move that decimates my entire party, meaning I need to kill him before he even gets to that point, and even with the attacks I have that he's weak against, I'm not making it, even with the Overtension mechanic.

I've run up against so many brick walls in this game that I've managed to overcome by carefully utilizing the mechanics it's given me, but now I can't see a possible way around this other than grinding my characters into dirt or going to farm for items in the hopes I can improve my weapons somehow, and I just don't have the energy.

This is one of those games where I can see the glimmer of something that could've been more entertaining if it weren't so unbalanced, and I've tried to forgive the flaws as a product of it being made in RPGMaker, but frankly, there are better RPGMaker games than this.

So, I'm giving up. I don't know if I'll come back to it down the road. Probably not.

Fun fact: This game was supposed to actually have a direct sequel, Flying Dreamer, that I think was scheduled to come out in 2017, but it faded into non-existence.

Instead a side story, Unity Unions, was released in 2020, and instead of being a classic-style JRPG like Planet Ruler, it's a 3D action-RPG. I might check that out, but that won't be the next game I play.

I said this before, but the next game I'm starting is a visual novel called Root Double. Full title: Root Double -Before Crime * After Days- Xtend Edition, because it's my understanding this collects all associated content regarding Root Double and puts it into one package. So... time for some reading.

I'm loving Ragnarok more and more as it goes on. So many cool places and moments and I think where they're taking the story and characters is really interesting.

The first half of Arise was fantastic, it lost me a lot in the back half. Still a solid game

finished God of War and will probably hop over to Pokémon now

I’m honestly pretty excited for this game. The cell shading is dope as hell.

Like GoW, I’ll pick it up on a sale.

Yeah, they are making the new game. Not sure if it will be future titles as well but Burnout Paradise is one of the best racing games of all time in my book.

  25. that's a good ass book then.

obviously the Criterion of today is a wildly different Studio compared to what it was when they made Burnout, most of the key staff are elsewhere, but there's still plenty of pedigree left there.
