What do you mean switch/set?

 

Holy shit that was like the only good thing about PLA haha I had no idea that wasn't an option in this game

 

in every single pokemon game up until now you used to have the option to switch or set in battle - switch being "trainer is going to send in this pokemon now - would you like to send out a different pokemon?", set being you don't get that choice and they just send out the pokemon, much like in actual battles with your friends or online. Sure, you can still just press no, but it's fucking annoying that they removed the option for no reason, especially since it's still going to be in the game due to online or local battling. It adds a modicum of difficulty to the game and I have used it ever since ruby and sapphire came out, and it's just frustrating having such a simple option removed from us. There was just no need for it.

I buy it every year for my brother no matter what because hey he likes Pokémon so I get both versions

 

I'm also the target gamer because I buy every game despite my reservations

 

My brother is a hardcore gamer and despite that he always get all the Pokémon’s for Christmas because we are just like meh that’s what he likes but he never complains

 

What is it with people saying with “Pokemon games are not about graphics!!!!” to defend what recent games looked like when until the Switch Pokemon mainline Pokemon games were actually graphically great. I won’t stand for this revisionist history. Those games were always polished as fuck and deserve their credit.

 

There is no reason for new Pokémon games to not have graphics on the level of a Viva Piñata

 

gamefreak is just a tiny indie company guys, cut them some slack

 

Fuck em all, GameFreak, The Pokemon Company, Nintendo and gamers for what they did to me lol I take it personal

 

the franchise has fucking sucked since the shift to 3D and there's just no excuse for it lol

 

There isn’t (though it was predictable), but also fuck people from pressuring them to go 3D when those pixel art games were so well made and so good. I hate the “games must be 3D” thing.

 

that and making them open world. i don't know why anyone wanted that. open world is so boring

 

Also before anyone @s me: I’m sure there is fun to be had with these new games, so sure, play them (maybe I will too at some point), but come on, this really isn’t the same series that it was around HG/SS and BW/BW2 (and even X&Y). It’s not even close qualitatively. And to me that’s sad. It’s a loss for video games.

 

I like open world games, but I also don’t think all games need to be open world. Also, Pokemon to me was open enough, despite the linear progression.

 

this is what i'm saying. i don't care if people enjoy it, i'm happy for them. but it's not the same series it used to be. lost its soul.
