you could just play platinum for a better sinnoh experience

i definitely wish bdsp had some more content beyond what was in the original game. but i still enjoyed it a decent amount, i love sinnoh and it does fix the two glaring issues the original games had (slow ui and overreliance on hms, particularly in mt coronet). it does seem as a bit of a wasted opportunity to more than the same game with a new coat of paint. tbf it does seem like gf just doesnt have interest in remaking games anymore and were sort of forced by tradition to do this game. they were clearly more interested in pushing forward with a new concept like arceus. but it still functions as a way to play gen 4 on switch with some minor mechanical tweaks. considering we're probably never gonna get those ds games rereleased id say its a solid alternative for those who want to play through a sinnoh game.

Diamond and pearl were good games to begin with which is why I really don’t understand why people think the remakes are bad because they didn’t go far enough in changing shit. At worst they’re still faithful remakes of good games

I liked BDSP, I just did 1 playthrough and didn't get into the postgame at all but it was a very enjoyable playthrough, glad I got it

Diamond/Pearl was probably the only gen that I straight up didnt enjoy. Looking back its probably just because I had a bad team. Any time Bronzong would show up, it would basically wipe me. Couldnt do shit against it.

I also had a really hard time levelling anyone in that game for some reason? Was it the first game that gave you less exp for poke's who were lower level than you?

The problem with more recent Pokemon remakes is that they turned great looking pixel art games into mediocre to bad looking 3D games (with some nice moments here and there, sure). That is a big step down in my opinion.

Earlier remakes, the DS ones, one the other hand turned simple pixel art games into much better looking pixel art games, which was a step up.

The biggest joke about Switch-era Pokemon is that you can’t transfer all your old Pokemon. These games use cheap ass 3D art and they still can’t (won’t) make all the models. That to me really points towards nobody giving a shit anymore, it’s only a cash cow.

and yeah, there really is no excuse for Pokémon being the arguably worst looking Nintendo game, especially with the numbers they're doing. (but I guess that cuts both ways, they don't need to put more effort in because it's selling well anyway. sigh)

I will say gamers are at least partly to blame for this. I have for years said that demanding 3D Pokémon (especially HD) is a bad idea because it will make the games worse due to the business model behind them (which will never change).

Apparently SV is loading the whole world instead of doing the normal open world thing of just loading what's in view lol, also memory leak issues are helping cause all the FPS drops. These are pretty fixable issues so hopefully something gets done about it via patching

Thought it’d be fun to go to Walmart before work this morning to pick up the new Pokémon. It wasn’t on display and there was no one around to ask for help so after 20 mins I left

I've only played about an hour of it so far and it feels like it's so close but falls short. The general aesthetic and character of the game is so charming but it's let down by the bare minimum of what's expected of open world modern games, and I think it's long past the point that fans just accepted this lack of quality control. Did they just not learn from what happened with Cyberpunk?

I'm honestly still just raging that they took out the switch/set option

I would honestly be surprised if they or any part of Nintendo gave a fuck about what happens to another company's games.
