I think this is just a little below, maybe nearly on par with FANSD. The only difference is that, as the song Marigold puts it...

...it's not sad anymore.

This is honestly up there with the best, the way these songs are structured is amazing

I mean, Relient k has at least two albums better than Mmhmm (Five Score and FANSD), so it's certainly not impossible for them top it. I do think Air For Free has higher highs than Mmhmm for sure.

 

My top three are this, Fansd, and Mmhmm

 

AFF is easily #2 behind FANSD for me.

 

I am definitely of the opinion that this is a good album. It'll probably end up somewhere in my top 10 for this year.

Not sure how I'd rank Relient K albums in general, outside of FANSD which is by far my favourite. There's all sorts of nostalgia and history attached to each album making it harder to distinguish which is my subejctive 'best'.

 

I still don't fully know where I put this album because I love a good amount of it, but others I could easily cut them off the album and I wouldn't be bummed like Air For Free or Prodigal.

this is def in my top five of the year so far. probably my second favorite RK album. yeah, there's some filler, but that's what the skip button is for.

 

I think Prodigal and God are the only two I skip on here and they are perfectly fine songs, just not up my alley.

Edit: I don't always skip them. Just depends on my mood. I still like them both.

 

This is definitely taking second to MMHMM for me. But after MMHMM, the next three albums are all kind of interchangeable. MMHMM, Five Score, FANSD, and Air For Free are all excellent for entirely different reasons. If Collapsible Lung didn't exist, Relient K would have arguably had one of the best album streaks of any band I know.

 

I wish FNANSD was on Apple Music! If I buy an album on iTunes, will it import to my Apple Music library? Anyone know?

Spotify has had it all this time

 

The unfortunate thing is some things are on Spotify but not Apple Music and vice versa. Just not sure why every Relient K release is on Apple Music but that one

 

Yeah it doesn't make sense. Unless it has something to do with Relient k being on Jive for that record and Jive is no longer a thing

 

Is that their only record on Jive? You could be on to something here

 

Pretty sure it is. Jive closed in fall of 2011 and pretty sure Is for Karaoke was only MvS release.

 

FANSD was primarily Mono vs. Stereo. There are two versions of the CD with different label names on them. And, interestingly, differing first track intros. But pretty sure Jive got involved for distribution purposes only.
