Like I said, I must be hearing a different record than y'all. Heavy shoegaze vibe? Huh? I'm genuinely curious what you're referring to here.

"Blender" and "It Takes Time" kinda struck me as shoegaze, or at least shoegaze-adjacent 90s (Swervedriver?) with the thick layering of guitar tracks and plodding tempo. The title track maybe a bit less since it's more uptempo.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a massive apologist for this being exceptional or flawless. But I do enjoy that middle section and feel like some of AG's best melodies are there.

Of all the albums that came out this year I didn’t expect this to be an album of the year contender for me, but it’s between this and Caracara.

Lol, literally my one and two! Any other ones you'd recommend that came out this year? Maybe something off most people's radar?

I guess I could see this project growing on me and maybe clicking with a sophmore record. It's weird because I'm a big Saosin ATS apologist and I feel that most of my gripes for past lives are present in full force on that record too. I think it's a me problem more than anything else that this isn't working. Im happy for everyone involved and it's good that a lot of you are getting so much out of this Anthony green renannaince. I think I have Circa tunnel vision and I can't help but think of lsdunes in the context of their hiatus and therefore it's harshing my vibes significantly.

Yeah this is pretty good. Grey veins, past lives and permanent rebellion are the stand outs after one listen.

Definitely not what I was expecting. Permanent rebellion is kind of a fake out single.

like i said its the same exact tone used throughout the amulet, and that was one of the highlights of that album (which is my favorite circa album so keep that in mind). def the first thing i noticed after a few tracks.

yep yep!! it’s funny because you can hear the thursday influence in the rhythm section, the my chem and coheed type riffs and chord progressions going on with the guitars, and Anthony’s voice is unmistakable across all his projects, yet it feels transcendent of all those individual parts and is something completely new and different

These are some of my favorite Anthony vocals in awhile. Absolutely love what he’s doing.

I absolutely love the production and mix on this. Not a lot of bells and whistles in terms of production flourishes, just straight up ripping for all to hear. I also love how the vocals sit behind the instruments because as I’ve said and I’ll said it again that’s that classic post hardcore mix style and I feel like this band calls back to a lot of that post hardcore we grew up with, like the early days of all their bands combined and brought into the current decade
