NYT stopped their lean calculation on that like 36 hours ago so it’s worthless to use at this point.

My friend Benjamin Waddell is a sociology professor here in La Plata County and a great Southwest journalist. Figured I'd share his thoughts on the Frisch-Boebert outcome:

So here's my take on the Frisch-Boebert race. All counties have reported more than 95% of their votes with the exception of 3: Garfield, Pitkin, and Otero. So, the race comes down to those three counties because the other counties will continue to report similar trends to what have already come in. In other words, they’re a wash. Still, while Garfield, Pitkin, and Otero make things interesting, they lean toward Frisch. Here’s why.

Garfield has roughly 2,615 votes left to be counted. Following current trends, Frisch will capture roughly 1,490 and Boebert will take home 1,124. Thus, Garfield leans toward Frisch with a 365 vote advantage.

Pitkin has roughly 2,324 votes left to be counted. Following current trends, Frisch will capture roughly 1,836 and Boebert will earn 488. Thus, Pitkin, not surprisingly, leans toward Frisch with a 1,347 vote advantage. Anyone notice that Pitkin is Frisch’s home county? Yeah, they’re clever. Hold those votes until the last minute! And then, BOOM!

Finally, Otero has roughly 1,951 votes left to be counted. Following current trends, Frisch will capture roughly 838 and Boebert will earn 1,112. Thus, Otero leans toward Boebert with a 273 vote advantage.

Now, if we add it all up, across Garfield, Pitkin and Otero, Frisch has a rough advantage of 1,439 votes. Naturally, this assumes that counties are reporting accurately, and that The NY Times numbers reflect what is actually happening on the ground. That said, I sense they do, and thus, although it will likely take a few days to work through the recount, I ultimately expect Frisch to come through with a narrow victory.
