    Serj has COVID, shows postponed

    Also:

I kind of hope this is something that got lost in translation because otherwise that's a bit concerning

I would be very surprised if they put out a new record given Damon’s controlling nature and John being a MAGA dumbass but I would love for that to happen.

  11. Eh pretty much the same thing he's been saying forever, we know where he stands in regards to new SOAD. I'm not getting my hopes up

See i feel like that's not as interesting as what WWWY is because don't nu metal festivals happen essentially all the time. Theres 100 rock fests every summer all across the country

There are way more punk festivals on a yearly basis than nu-metal festivals....

ah that thing SOAD were missing, playing shows based around early 00s nostalgia

On the extreme level of wwwy? Idk about that. Every red state rock fest has essentially this type of lineup every summer.

Yes in 2023 pop punk fests are definitely getting blown up but I've seen this type of lineup many times.

Now I'll say getting Flyleaf is amazing though

But not a curated lineup deliberately based on nostalgia and a particular span of time, which is what I was hoping for.

Based on the above lineup, it looks like they only met that expectation halfway. Some really odd choices, IMO.

More than most festival lineups I've seen, that's an impressively mixed bag of decent-to-great bands and some of the worst shit I've ever heard.

like I don't do festivals but just SOaD / Deftones / Death Grips / Mr. Bungle / Killing Joke / Failure / Body Count / Fiddlehead....now that would be a gig.

I think the word I would use to describe that lineup is "eclectic", Mr Bungle and Sisters of Mercy were not names I was expecting

I’m excited for that lineup personally. Flyleaf reunion is cool, been a while for them!

Relistening to System's albums on my drives to work this week and idly registering how blaring political critiques and random gibberish about selling ass for heroin and banana terracotta pie makes me feel like I'm listening to the aural version of Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas and if the drivers next to me are hearing this and wondering what the fuck is happening.

    It's a great feeling.

Take: Tentative absolutely should've been a single instead of Kill Rock n Roll.
