I bought the 256 and added my own glare free screen for much cheaper.

also added 512 gigs on an SD card.

Is the difference in storage speeds noticeable?

Seen a guy on Facebook selling a 256GB for £350. Not sure whether to try and talk him down a bit and see what happens

Can not tell a difference at all between my card or internal storage.

I have the highest tier Steam Deck and I would personally say wait until a second version comes out, but that's just me.

If you don’t have a gaming PC @AFoolsGlory, I highly recommend the deck

  6. I have the middle tier one. It’s great. Could always wait for a Gen 2 model to come out that will probably be a bit nicer

Yeah my fear is pulling the trigger and then them announcing a v2 with better battery life etc. Just my luck that that's what would happen.

The battery life can be pretty good depending on your settings. I just have more of a problem of the size, the fans and how it feels to play certain games. I'm not saying never get one.

I have yet to plug it in to a hub and use it on a monitor or a TV, but I've heard great things about how that works.

I mean I know it’s a cliche and “there’s no ethical consumption under capitalism” is a usual cop out, but there’s also a reason the saying exists. if your line is at companies with a shitty workplace where does that end? just with media or everything you ever purchase? because that’s going to be an overwhelming amount of products and I know we all want to do better but for me, I gotta cut myself some slack and stop over thinking shit and just do whatever makes me happy, because at the end of the day that’s all I’ve really got. which, if I like something and I find out the studio is a shitty place to work, whatever that sucks but that’s not really my problem selfish as it may sound. but the author of the IP something is based on is a transphobic? that’s my problem and there’s no way I’d feel okay playing that game. it’s just a spectrum I guess

Knowing Valve they'll abandon it anyway so you might as well pull the trigger now

Oh there will be a Steam Deck 2.

The question is if there'll be a Steam Deck 2 Episode 3 ;-)

Thinking about how Valve can't count to 3 and how Capcom used to have a problem doing this back in the day and wondering if there's a connection.

Very clearly not a numbered entry.

Might as well call it Super Half-Life 2 Turbo: Champion Edition.

Player's Log: Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth.

I'd intended to finish this game today but I faffed about for a lot of the day and so I've only finished the first two chapters of the third book. Five chapters left.

Once I'm done, I think I'm going to move on from Daedelic. There's still quite a few games from them I haven't touched, but like with Annapurna, I'll get to them on another pass. I'm just getting tired and looking to move on.

I just rolled the wheel, and the next company to come up is Sekai Project, a company responsible for localizing a lot of visual novels, including Clannad, The Devil on G-String, Planetarian, World End Economica, and the Nekopara series.

So I guess I'm going to do a lot of reading.

    Player's Log: Gotham Knights

Played for several hours straight today and the story is really starting to pick up.

While the combat is similar to previous installments, it's still very different and I think that's what's been throwing me off the most. I'm so used to how the combat of Arkham games works that this is throwing me off. I'm starting to get used to it though and getting better.

There's much more puzzle elements this time around compared to previous games that I'm really enjoying. The graphics during the cutscenes are quite good for my eyes but maybe my expectations are much lower standard than most.

Overall it took a little while to get the feel for everything and get into it but I think it's really starting to progress well and should be a fun story and completion.

This game looks cool. From the makers of Shovel Knight. Lots of nods to Links Awakening.

I am probably the biggest fan of Alyx, but it is truly a very niche title because you need to spend thousands of bucks to play it. (Or at least 350 if you already have a VR ready computer.)
Given the dearth of quality VR titles otherwise it’s a tall ask.

still havent played it yet for reasons mentioned, but that doesnt weirdly not make it the 3rd released Half Life game
