We reach for the longest shadow

I have experience with the AT-LP60, AT-LP120, and the Fluance RT-85. The 60 is the perfect starter table. I would hesitate getting the 120 because I don't think it is a drastic step up, and you would want to replace the cartridge to get it to where it is a big upgrade over the 60, and you would probably want to make sure you have a pretty great amp/speaker combo before its really worth it. I have the Fluance currently and love it. I would happy to break down my setup if interested, but I went with the Fluance over the UTurn Orbit because it was a better bang for the buck and came with the Ortofon Blue cartridge. The Orbit also makes you physically move the drive belt to move from 33 to 78, which I would get annoyed with if I listened to a lot of 7"s. Probably more info than you needed.

Our house is smaller than the one we previously lived in. My setup used to be in our big extra bonus room with the rest of the home theater stuff, but now it's in our open dining/living room/kitchen area. I would also listen more if it wasn't for my kid. It's just a lot to be chasing him around and then switch out records/remembering to flip them over/put the needle back when it's done, but I do a good bit because it does sound better than any other listening setup in the house.

First record was Four Year Strong's Enemy of the World on orange in 2010. Bought it on a whim at Hot Topic. Shortly after that I got Coheed's Year of the Black Rainbow and NWFT, Protest the Hero's Kezia, Fortress and Scurrilous. Didn't start buying too much until I got a proper setup, was using my dad's old all in one record player from the 90s before that, and it played everything a little too fast, haha.

With Parting Gift doing BNO and Gutter Phenomenon represses recently, The Big Dirty may be coming soon! I bought the lepoard splatter variant from a friend for $80 CDN like 6 years ago. But wouldn't mind double dipping.

Kaleidoscope Heart definitely needs a repress! The prices on Discogs are insane! I saw her tour that album. Absolutely brilliant live!

Stop the presses! I'm listening to this Andrew McMahon interview and when talking about the Something Corporate reunion at WWWY next year he mentions that they're gearing up for vinyl reissues. I can finally get North!

Anyone have a good record store recommendation in Boston (other than Newbury)? Thinking of checking out Vinyl Index in Somerville. I see that they serve beer and cocktails which is a great idea lol
