I think I've seen them like 5 times, all of them at Warped tours, & their set was the exact same with the same jokes every time. It was really fun still, & I'd see them again, but to see them bitching about this is really off putting.

all i know them for is that kitsch-rock song that was a just a rip off of of Stacy's Mom but with more references

It's interesting seeing a post like that versus hearing their singer on podcasts talking about how they lean into who they are, getting that they're a "joke" band, etc. It has nothing to do with "coolness" and everything to do with how they've branded themselves (pretty deliberately) over the last 20+ years versus how they perceive themselves.

In the late 90s/early 2000s when BFS started, the whole "pop-punk with jokes" thing was definitely a viable career path. Especially live. I think they saw themselves as being in the same vein as Blink-182, NOFX, Guttermouth, Screeching Weasel or whoever in that regard. And I think they continued to see themselves that way over the years, despite the decisions they were making as far as songwriting, touring, and marketing were concerned. There's some cognitive dissonance going on, I think. And I'm sure some of what their peers have been accomplishing is frustrating too.

It would be the equivalent of like, Jim Carrey, continuing to only do movies like Ace Ventura and The Mask for the last 20+ years and in 2022 being like "Why don't I have an Oscar?!!"

They actually did a cover of Stacy's Mom too. So you can say you know 2 songs by them

Okay one more... for the last decade the lead singer has been the official voice of Charles Entertainment Cheese.
I have no idea how, but Bowling for Soup is my friend's favorite band EVER, & she's seen them something like 75 times in like 5 countries. I know plenty of people that follow their tours for like a week, it's wild

The thing that surprises me the most form this, is learning that Chuck E Cheese full name is Charles Entertainment Cheese. Im literally laughing from learning this fact.

Just saw Placebo rescheduled for April in Chicago so I'm gonna assume that means they are probably out.

Also saw Riot did an article on Pinkshift, so I'm optimistic on them playing in 2023

Still don't know if I'm going next year, but more ska would help. (Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra will be touring the states in September in some capacity.. wouldn't mind Goldfinger or Madness sprinkled on the line up too) Madness might be more likely for PRB though, just depends on when/if they are coming to the states this year

TSO is doing Supernova next year, so unless Riot changes from its usual weekend I wouldn't bank on them being in the mix.

Just depends on what day TSO play (I don't think they will play back to back days like Hepcat but Friday-Sunday is doable)

why am i only discovering this person on twitter a few days after i deleted my profile! lol either way, this could be fun, especially if there are more dope openers to be announced. I found this because the Enterprise center (home of st. louis blues) posted a photo of their jumbotron with the new paramore promo photo on it and sideway eyes emoji, so that means they are full on headlining arenas now! which should mean they graduate to being a top 3 name at riot, in my opinion.

From the leaked dates it seems they dont have a Chicago show, most likely cause they are playing The Chicago Theatre next week, but maybe they do actually play Riot again!

If the leak is true, they end in Minneapolis the night before Lolla starts

  21. Yeah, the size of the venues they're playing means they'd for sure headline a day of Riot or play last on the second stage at Lolla. Of course, they could also just announce a United Center show after the current tour is done.

Although it can also be Lollapalooza if these dates are true

ahhh, lolla makes sense then, probably a north stage headliner, or a south stage subheadliner

Dates released for Paramore line up for Lolla, tour itinerary ends in St Paul a day before Lolla starts
