I'll never understand the love for BNE, and this certainly isn't the place to bring it up, but it just feels like diet riot to me, it's still mostly good but it's their only album I don't think they made any progression on from the last album

All pretty close honestly.

 

Brand New Eyes probably has the least drastic evolution but it definitely feels like a refinement of their skill as songwriters.

i think riot has far and away better songs than awkif but i prefer awkif to it as an album experience. feels more concise and structured while riot feels like good songs on shuffle

 

On some songs, yeah I can agree, but something like "Careful" just sounds like an AWKIF b-side and I've never cared for The Only Exception

Self Titled has some jaaaaams ("Ain't It Fun" might be their best song) but the album is sooo long

 

I just love the guitar and drum sounds they got on BNE. Some of my favorite tones ever, especially on the guitar. It gave their sound such a rich feeling compared to the first two records. Plus, I could never imagine songs like Misguided Ghosts or All I Wanted on the first two albums.

 

Careful is maybe my favourite song on BNE haha. The Only Exception is my least favourite on there for sure. It's fine.

 

A rich feeling is a very good way to put it thank you. I couldn't find the right words for why I preferred it to Riot but that would explain it.

confession: when i listen to BNE, i take TOE out of the tracklisting

 

i've had to hear my fiance sing that song in the car so much that i honestly almost skipped it on that listen lol

 

im listening to BNE rn and i want to live in the universe where BBBB transitions directly into TIO. it feels like it should

 

I don't think any Paramore album has really fully resonated with me. I think they suffer from Stellar Single Syndrome, where their singles are all so amazing that the overall album experience gets shifted to the wayside. I can't think of a deep cut off any Paramore that's better or even as good as the lead singles.

That being said, if I had to rank the albums:

1. Riot!
2. After Laughter
3. Brand New Eyes
4. All We Know Is Falling
5. Paramore (2013)

respectfully of course, i disagree wholly.

 

I was obsessed with Riot! for like 6 months. Now I don’t like listening to it aside from a few songs. Used to also really like AWIF but nostalgia does t hold up there.

They truly became such a stronger band with their last three releases.

 

Hallelujah is a top tier paramore song for me hah

 

Turn It Off is my favorite Paramore song and its not even close. what a good track
