Just saw a Twitter thread of people praising demos odds and ends… what.

 

Same. Honestly glad that, for all the dumb shit they've done and said over the years, blink never adopted reactionary politics. It would be so easy for them to go on Fox News and grift by whining about how cancel culture made it so you can't make songs about fucking dogs anymore, and then get lovebombed from the right.

But outside of Travis' weird choice of collaborators, they all seem like upstanding guys: Mark gives to LGBTQ charities, Tom endorsed Bernie, and even Travis said he was anti-Trump. Idk, that's better than a lot of bands from that era.

All this Blink wedding talk is great. My wife did a cover of All The Small Things were she sang with her guitar as a gift to me on the day. She changed the lyrics slightly to make them about "us" and life together and shit.

Me and my friend are going for a 3 night camping trip in a few weekends. We've decided to listen to the entire Blinkverse, start to finish over the trip in order, starting with Flyswatter and ending with EDGEING.

Sitting around the campfire, drinking beers and eating barbecue while going through all Blink, AVA, +44, Boxcar, demos, etc. We've decided to not include the Transplants though. We like them, but do they count in the scheme? Simple Creatures as well?

Help a brother out.

If you're gonna get through everything, even shitty demos, then why not include Transplants and Simple Creatures? ;D even if you'd like to stick with the ones that have the blink voices (cause well, Travis actually drummed on a lot of albums), then still - Simple Creatures would fall in the same category as +44

Simple Creatures has Alex from All Time Low in it though, and given all the weird shit that's come out about those guys, I'd rather pretend it doesn't exist.

I don't think I ever even listened to the second Simple Creatures EP in full. First was pretty decent but it wore off kinda quick for me

I do hope we eventually get the Mark/Skiba Cereal Killers project though.

 

TW (SA): The main thing is that their guitarist, Jack Barakat, allegedly slept with a 15-y/o girl that he had known for 5 years prior, and continued to groom her for several years. He also publicly dated a 17 y/o actress named Abigail Breslin when he was 25. Abigail now has admitted to being in an abusive relationship during the timeframe they were dating.

There are also allegations of emotional abuse against Alex, and cheating against Rian, along with a documented history of the band making jokes sexualizing their fans and collecting their underwear, but most of the graphic allegations are against Jack, who the rest of the band is still defending and allowing in the band to this day.
