I’m starting to feel the same. It’s an unacceptable end to Laurie’s story, but in the context of the entire franchise it ain’t that bad.

Now that I think about it.. New Nightmare (94) and Halloween: Curse (95) look drastically different than Scream (96.) I don’t know shit about the technical aspects of film, but 96-97 seem to be a turning point in visual quality.

edit: I guess it could all be budgetary, but still..

Watching Day of the Dead all the way through for the first time. Have only seen bits and pieces on TV before, but I am obviously loving it.

  6. Halloween 6 is fun bad!

Bodies Bodies Bodies was ridiculous and fun

Curse of Chucky for me tonight. Might try to fit in something light hearted after.

Really really impressed by Sissy, great story, great twists even if I predicted a few, wild kills, highly recommended.

Similar tone and aesthetics to Bodies Bodies Bodies, but I think it may have been even more engaging as a slasher. Probably not as funny tho, both really good.

  10. Def preferred Bodies, but Sissy was very good and def in the same realm

  11. I'm like thirty minutes into In Fabric, not really doing it for me

Made my gf watch the Evil Dead remake tonight. I forgot just how amazingly gory it is. I loved watching her cover her eyes most of the movie haha Probably my favorite “remake” of any classic horror movie.

    didn't do much for me

  14. Bummer! I think it's up there as one of, if not the, best remakes as well.

  15. Needed a break last night, so I watched a comedy special. Work has been so stressful lately. Going to finish Lifeforce tonight and then I sent it on the screening room showings of X and Pearl tomorrow. Last Drive In on Friday, VHS99 on Saturday. Stacked week!

I think tonight I’m going to do Host and Hush. Never seen either but I’ve heard great things.

House of 1000 Corpses is still fun but I found it much more annoying this time around with the random cutaways and blaring sounds that I’m sure I used to think were a lot cooler and edgy. It’s still probably my most consistently liked Zombie flick out of what I’ve seen.

Also did The Exorcist last night and it still carries itself well but it’s always more of a cool experience watching it with someone who has never seen it. Doing Leap of Faith now to gain some insight on Friedkin and the bts stuff

I think The Munsters might be Zombie's best flick, overall. I like The Devil's Rejects a lot but the former fits his style and humor to the tee.

  22. 1000 Corpses is def his best. I think it might have been a fluke in all honesty. I like half of Rejects and Halloween. Munsters was fun.

I don't mind his Halloween sequel. I'm for sure never watching 31 again though lol
