    I back that.

  4. I joked earlier about how we're all so desensitized in here and even I found Evil Dead 2013 pretty darn gross

I got both seasons of Castle Rock on DVD, do I need to know a lot of Stephen King lore? I've seen The Shining/Doctor Sleep, It/It Chapter Two, Gerald's Game, and Room 1408

I fell asleep while watching the descent now i don't really feel like going back and finishing it.

  6. Well I love Video Violence 2 even more than the first, but I 100% recommend the SOV double-feature of Sledgehammer and Things on The Last Drive-In.
Yes to both! Totally different vibes but both are great.

Also y'all are wack, new Hellraiser was very good

Let's hear everyone's best horror movie/Halloween food puns, need ideas for party snacks. So far I have:
    Children of the Popcorn
Creature from the Black Legume (bean dip)
Light Fare on Elm Street (crudites)

I thought the new hellraiser was okay. They did get me to care about some of the characters pretty quickly. I def bought their relationship dynamics and i think they nailed the characterizations pretty early on. Idk how to describe it tho. It felt like a 2022 movie in a way that I think will have it feel dated in the future. Idk. Like it was def fine for a Hulu watch but I don't think I would've paid to see it in theaters. However it did make me wanna go back and watch the original cause it has been a while.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

the sibling dynamic in Hellraiser reminded me of Evil Dead 13, always a nice thing

  11. I really enjoyed the characters, performances, the kills/gore, the look of the film...really didn't have much to nitpick. It wasn't like a perfect film or anything, but very, very solid and pretty much exactly what I was looking for

We watched the Uninvited tonight. I want to throw things.

  13. Now that I've had the chance to sit with it a couple days I think this is where I'm at as well.

These are not good at all but just throwing em out there

    The Pear Witch Project
    The (Onion) Ring
Dawn of the Bread/The Evil Bread

You could also go effortless and just have:
    Ginger Snaps
    The Devil's Candy

Rewatched Halloween ('18) last night, still real good. Doing Kills tonight (sigh), and then Ends Thursday. I love this version of Myers.

Outside of JLC’s horrendous wig that does not resemble her hair from the first movie (despite being in the same 24hrs) and the obvious “studio wants more sex” push that Carpenter hates to admit to, I do think it’s a solid sequel. Feels claustrophobic, the chase scenes with Michael just walking, and one of the best endings to a horror movie.

i agree with all of this. the only other critique i have is i don't like the mask in it. i understand they lost the original mask between films but man, it just started a downward trend of the mask looking ridiculous.

A weird detail but I really enjoy the Haddonfield Memorial Hospital logo design choice on that building in 2

michael setting up an iv to the dead lady and letting the blood drip onto the floor was just demented, i loved it

  22. I don't think you need to know any King lore to enjoy it, but there are a lot of references to places and characters from the books. My wife hasn't read any King and has seen very few of the adaptations and she really liked the show. That said, it's probably worth watching Misery before season two, both to get the definitive take on the Annie Wilkes character and because it's just a spectacular movie.
