I decided I want to also cover "Dracula's Lament" by Peter Bretter . That's two super lazy covers and enough of a commitment for me! =)

 

i'm debating instead of doing an original as a second song doing a roky erickson song instead. debating between two headed dog and i walked with a zombie. former would be really cool but idk if i could do it without someone else drumming. latter less cool but more feasible, hah

 

Someone should do a song where they just use the Monster vox effect in Garageband

 

Anyone else ever have days where no matter how hard you try, you cannot play on tempo and/or properly? That's where I'm at today. haha

 

Vocally, DEFINITELY! I hate singing, and I'm only satisfied with my voice on random days, so it's always a gamble... haha

 

Singing is my worst too. haha I hate my voice, so I sit there for hours to days redoing takes. I'm in this weird place where I love writing, and hate singing, but would not enjoy anyone else singing my writing.

 

Welcome to my hell... so I sacrifice some dignity and do a couple takes with the iMac microphone and call it a day. Better recording equipment (while I've had it previously) leaves me even more annoyed. I'm pitchy and cannot annunciate well .. horrible.

 

Haha, that works. I use a Blue Yeti Pro mic so a lot of my flaws definitely come through. Though, for all I know people don't think I'm as bad as I think I am.

 

Usually if I'm not feeling what I'm recording I'll stop for a day or two... don't even listen to what I was doing. Then go in with a fresh attitude and while I may still not be happy with it, I'll keep pushing on and by the end of tracking it'll be good enough. I usually encounter that feeling when laying down to a click or when I've only got 1-2 tracks done... the more I put into it, the happier I am.

It's just one of those speed bumps that slows me down. Can't stop though!

 

Yeah, I'm employing the day or two break right now. Hoping for better Wednesday or Thursday.
