You’re not alone! I probably have an equally bad take that Resurrection and Kills are the two most fun movies in the franchise. They are guilty pleasures that I enjoy because of how stupid and simple they are. Lots of mindless kills and shit to laugh at. Obviously they are not the best in the franchise at all, but they are among my favorites.

Tonight’s double feature is the Sixth Sense and Jennifer’s Body. I’ve know it’s crazy, but I’ve never seen either. I had the Sixth Sense spoiled for me so I never really bothered to watch it. My girlfriend is forcing me to watch it haha Jennifer’s Body is something I’ve overlooked because I assumed it would be cheesy/awful based on Megan Fox alone until I saw multiple reviews rave about it. Excited to check those out!

  3. yesss Jennifer's Body is fantastic. I watched it for the first time recently as well. Way ahead of its time and severely underrated. I think it's earned its status as a cult classic.

We're doing Jennifer's Body couples costumes this year, hope we keep a horror movie theme in the future

I saw the Ring for the first time last year and was surprised by how much I loved it, I knew the basic plot but there was a ton of things I didn't see coming still and the vibes were great.

Probably a bunch of classics I'm missing, I haven't seen any of the Halloween's or Friday the 13th's.

I love the ring. I usually watch it a few times a year. I just love the tone and washington/oregon coast vibes and I think it's all genius

The Ring scared the absolute living shit out of me at 13 years old going to watch in theaters. Horrified me so much, I watched it repeatedly.

  7. For a long time, The Ring--and then Ringu--was the scariest movie I'd seen, turned me off from horror for years. I think my biggest problem with Smile is how abrasive it is, I much prefer the solemn tone of The Ring. From what I can remember, it's a pretty faithful adaptation of the Japanese movie except for one crucial thing: in The Ring Samara is portrayed as a more tragic figure turned vengeful spirit, whereas in Ringu Sadako is more terrifying in that even in life she was this demonic cursed being. Finally a fan of horror now, I can really appreciate how well made The Ring is. You know, they always say about American adaptations, "Oh the Japanese version is always so much better." Is it, though?

Also I love the movies' sort of cult status, that people were always pulling elaborate shit like this:

I never found the Ring scary. I watched it when I was like 10 and didn’t think much of it and then Scary Movie 3 made it even less scary.

Re: The Ring. My friends and I saw it opening night and then walked home from the theater. My two friends branched off to their houses before leaving me on a lonely dark road at like midnight. I didn’t run…but I did that *walk as fast as you possibly can without running* thing for about a mile. Pre cellphone..so I was also talking to myself the entire way back trying to give myself a false sense of security.

Smile was good. Didn’t love it but there were some really cool sequences and the ending really saved it for me. It really relies way too much and props itself up on jump scares though. The soundtrack was unique and I found myself really enjoying it one moment and then hating it the next. This has been a really good year for modern theatrical horror releases!

Re-watchung haunting in Connecticut cause I remember virtually nothing about it. They have some decent mirror/reflection scares so far tho

Also just recently been putting The Munsters on as a background show and I’m loving it. I only ever watched a few episodes here and there back in the day so it’s like watching it for the first time. Kinda makes me excited to watch Zombie’s film later this month.

Munster Mondays used to be a thing in the early 2000s. I forget what channel it was, but my pops and I would always tune in. Haven’t checked Zombie’s yet.

Someone please tell me they've seen this movie that's on Peacock. Apparently it was also released as House on Tombstone Hill and none of the guys on the cover are in the actual movie.

Here's another great poster. I have yet to watch it, but VinSyn released it a couple years back. Maybe I'll grab it on the Black Friday sale.
