probably will get it sometime soon. it's a surprisingly easy listen considering the background of the people involved.

polyphia and shreddy instrumental stuff like it has always bored the shit out of me on record tbh. they were pretty fun live the one time i saw them with btbam though.

Yeah, it’s for sure not for everybody; I think you have to have a real appreciation for technical guitar playing. Even if the song itself is kind of ehhh, the fans are usually more into just the intricacy of the playing itself. Like the song above, it’s really just them riffing for six minutes, without much of a through-line between all the sections. Still cool af though

it also shouldn't come as a surprise that the goregrind guy doesn't really like animals as leaders core.

they're all super talented and I appreciate what they do, but yeah I can't really get into alot of that stuff. gimme something more along the lines of Revocation where it's super technical and shreddy, but also has grooves and riffs hard as hell

However, the new Animals as Leaders from earlier this year, despite their skills, was kinda wack; kinda boring all around. Polyphia do the Animals sound better than they themselves do it

I will say that this is probably as shreddy and technical as I enjoy consistently...even though it's still a gimmicky drum and bass grind band.
