You know, I’m starting to think football may not be coming home.

 

Starting to get that old, familiar, sinking feeling about England. The negativity around the squad has been pretty persistent for a while and a few players are already lightening rods for it (TAA and Maguire). Feels like the media and the vocal social media types are just working themselves up for a blow out. Unless a bunch of players find some form in the next six weeks, I think we're in for a South Africa level performance.

 

Did Pique put out a hit for the international break?

Cool to see Swiderski score for Poland again. I'm worried he's going to have a good WC and then get poached from Charlotte. He is such an underrated player because of the lack of talent he's playing with right now. We can't afford to lose him haha

 

Seems like Patterson is going to be out for 6 weeks. So essentially until after the World Cup, then. Such a shame because he's been playing well.

 

A lineup where guys are actually playing in their proper positions is nice to see

We control the game completely but make nothing out of it. So frustrating.

 

It's starting to get worrying how many players are getting injured in a completely avoidable compressed season for an early-winter, desert country tournament that's traditionally held in the summer.
