    Imagine telling us back in the early days that these guys would have us lamenting the passing of our grandparents. Just such a beautiful thing to grow with a band.

    For anybody who was a member of Sun Drenched Pavement Society and got access to the Sister Cities demos. It’s been brought to my attention that Cardinals II is basically the original When The Blue Finally Came Demo.

    I'm missing something here...there's a death cab reference??

    I may have this recording somewhere, I'll have to look. I thought I had ripped some of those demos. Definitely have the it must get lonely demo somewhere.

    Would love if someone has those somewhere and could share?

    Wyatt is actually my favorite on this entire record tbh

    @meaninglessritual

    Wyatt was unremarkable to me until I really paid attention to the lyrics.

    Jesus fucking Christ, Dan. Not cool. Go chop onions at your own house.

    Not shocked at all to find the chorus that has been stuck in my head for three days was where Hoppus pitched in lol

    Had my first in-the-car listen today. I just can’t get over how much I love this. I mean, even with them being my favorite band for over ten years. It’s somehow more than my impossibly high expectations.

    Before the album dropped I only listened to the first three tracks released. All were probably in my top 10 songs of the year, and Summer Clothes might have been number 1. Now I'm not even sure if they are among my favourite tracks on the record.

    I used to have a playlist of all the songs referenced in TWY lyrics, gotta bring that one back.

    Finally got around to listening to this. It’s okay. I found myself really into Cardinals II and Songs About Death, as well as most of Laura & the Beehive, but everything else didn’t really move the needle for me. Upon first listen, I definitely like this more than The Upsides and I’d probably put it on par with No Closer to Heaven. Wish I was feeling this album more because I’m a big fan of Sister Cities, but oh well.

    I would probably love Sister Cities if it didn't sound like shit

    I think for me I’m not super satisfied with the amount of straight up pop punk songs on here. I feel like they did everything they could with the genre on TGG. I don’t really want a TWY album that synthesizes all their sounds at this point—I want a record that builds off the others and does something new

    I still really like this!

    First time I’ve ever heard anyone say this. This is how I (and I think many others) feel about No Closer to Heaven. I literally can’t even get through that record because of how it sounds.

    I don’t think Sister Cities sounds bad, but there was definitely room for improvement on that one
