FWIW I'm not loving this and kinda think I'd be okay with them hanging it up. I know they're going to the studio in December to record a straight-to-tape 10 song rock album without a producer my hopes are very low. Going back and listening to Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts) and the difference is shocking. The newer stuff sounds almost lifeless in comparison. I'm slightly jealous of the people who are enjoying this!

I relistened to Zeitgeist a few weeks ago for the first time in a decade-plus, expecting to like at least some of it. Total dogshit record. “That’s The Way” is cool though.

 

I think Zeitgeist is a fantastic album, and I'll die on that hill. Fuckin' torch me alive, just play it for me as I burn.

 

Say what you want about the rest of Zeitgeist, but United States fucking slays.

 

I really like the guitars and drums on “Starz” on Zeitgeist.

 

Beguiled needs more layers. Feels sort of empty to me.

 

They premiered this live last night. Classic pumpkins! Rips.

 

Yeah that's definitely the direction I was thinking when they claimed this as a Machina/Mellon Collie continuation.

 

That sounds pretty awesome.

 

Absolutely here for the Zeitgeist praise.

7 Shades of Black is one of the best post-Machina tracks and I love Doomsday, Tarantula, That’s The Way, United States, Starz, and Bring The Light.

I was there, they played 4 new songs in total, they are totally.........fine......but certainly didn't blow me away

 

This song Harmageddon actually sounds sick. I'm cautiously optimistic that this'll be their best album in a decade.

I just realized Part 1 is released tomorrow. Odd that they never released a single from it. And that it's being released on a Tuesday. And that I haven't been hearing much chatter about it.

 

Early reactions are... Not positive to say the least. Apparently Act III is the worst of them
