I absolutely love 1930 and only got to see them play an acoustic version it once, at a show where Benny was absent for a family emergency so they had Against Me's drummer fill in for a bit and then did a number of acoustic versions. Would love to see the real version of it live sometime.

I love Brian but I have always felt his stage banter has been weak. It's usually just weird stories that don't really go anywhere. But from what I've seen of this tour, this is the happiest/best he's been with that stuff.

I didn’t see it but yeah Brian was talking shit on signs in Portland. He said it has to be something pretty or he doesn’t care haha His banter was definitely weird. He went on a rant about whether Morrisey was cancelled or not all night haha

It was a surprise, but it fit in perfectly with the final stretch of Bangers. Definitely more so than National Anthem which Seattle got which seems like an odd spot that late in the set. It’s such a beautiful song and under appreciated in their discography.

I feel like the "has to be something pretty or don't care" is just to weed out zero effort attempts. Seems like if you at least put a little work into your sign, they at least consider playing it. And its a way more respectful approach of doing requests than just catering to the fans that scream the loudest. Will be interesting to see how much it catches on going forward.

Yep, he definitely made a point to say if you scream random songs at me I’m definitely not playing them, but if you make a sign with some effort I’ll consider it which is super cool.

Throwing Blue Dahlia in there was definitely sick

I've been to hundreds of shows and can't ever think of a time where someone brought, or held, a sign.

I do love that they are mixing the set up so much that you don’t know what to expect. I respect them for being able to pull out so many songs after not touring consistently for 7 years.

Just because I think Get Hurt is a weird opener doesn’t also mean I’m not going to be there in Boston, as excited as ever, as grateful as ever to see them, and not singing along to every single second. This return is probably the happiest music news I’ve ever received. This is my favorite band.

It’s also okay to talk about something you think works/doesn’t work and not deem it as “complaining” lol

I love this band so much I honestly don't care that much what they play. I have my favorites but it's all so fucking good. Very few bands I would say that about.

Show in SF was pretty cool last night. Love this band. I will say Brian’s crowd banter was really weird and awkward and it kinda dragged on.

Ending the show with 45 and 59 sound was rad tho.

its brian though. comes with the territory. also its definitely the kind of thing that the more people complain about it, he's either just going to keep doing it or he's going to quit.

That's one of those things that, for me personally, he's got some great banter/storytelling talent, but its just not quite as good as he thinks it is.

Tonight's show in Denver has been cancelled. Damn, that's a bummer.

The email from the venue only said it was due to "unforeseen circumstances." Looks like the band hasn't released a statement yet either.

The Gaslight Facebook fan group, Andy Diamond's Church Street Choir, reached out to management and Brian lost his voice, unfortunately. Hope he recovers soon.

A statement will be coming out soon.

Man, this sucks. I hope it’s not so bad that they need to reschedule or cancel a bunch of dates.

Apparently they played a secret show in Durango, CO before SLC and he lost his voice so I’m assuming altitude sickness got him. Huge bummer

Oh shit. I live in Durango. Didn't know they were in the area! I don't remember hearing any whispers of such a show happening though.
