Honestly, if they're waiting for war to stop before they put the game out, they're gonna be waiting a long ass time.

 

I played Tales of Phantasia as a kid and it kicked my ass

Totally different styles of game. Triangle is a tactical RPG and Octopath is turn-based with random encounters. Much lighter on the story as well. I adore both, for what it's worth.

On the GBA? It's a notoriously terrible port, the slowdown is bad

 

They have to release Mario Party 1, 2, and 3 in the same month right? Releasing just mario party for 3 months seems like a waste of time

 

They’re only releasing the first two and then the third next year, I think?

So nobody mentioned this that I can see, but besides remakes of Front Mission 1 and 2, Square also announced they're remaking Front Mission 3. Our strategy RPG cup runeth over.

This looks like the successor to Danganronpa and I am fucking down for this. I hope it comes to Steam though.

Lot of great stuff in that direct. Very pumped for Octo 2, looks gorgeous. And I'm into that spongebob game lol.

I've literally never been disappointed with a direct, I never understand what the complaints are for.

 

I honestly question whether some of the detractors even ever liked Nintendo to begin with.

 

I'm always fascinated by the "nintendo don't know what they're doing because they didn't announce x" takes. Like, they very clearly know what they're doing, not everything has to be for you.

 

Nintendo has the unique problem of being the sole publisher that makes worthwhile AAA games for their platform.

They do make way more games than Sony or even Microsoft, but there's barely other games of that calibre on Switch worth talking about, so they do have a lot of slack to pick up, which might explain a lot of people being disappointed.

At the end of the day, you're getting one Nintendo exclusive on average per month, and if you don't like what's on offer, you're SOL.

Like, Octopath 2 is nice but it's no ... Call of Duty or Assassin's Creed or what have you.

 

For some reason I thought Tunic was already on the switch, but that's reminded me that I should check it out when it drops.

 

amazing game but hold off until you see some performance stuff. the video they showed looked like it could be a little rough out the gate.

 

Disappointing Direct. Zelda and Pikmin the only thing I cared about and there was no gameplay footage other than 2 seconds that made it look like Skyward Sword.

I am glad Pikmin 4 is an actual thing and not just some shit Miyamoto said for shits and giggles awhile back. Pikmin 3 is an absolute masterpiece, so I’ve got high expectations.
