I was split on X but I am interested in rewatching it before seeing Pearl

 

The Pearl ads on IG are driving me nuts, but I guess it's nice to know the studio's spending money on it.

 

Only spoils what year it takes place in haha

I'm torn between thinking the sneak Mia Goth trilogy is an absolutely brilliant move and finding X incredibly mid. I'll still watch the other two for sure

Every time she comes up, I'm reminded of how I started A Cure for Wellness with some friends but never finished cause everyone got too drunk and started arguing over pausing the movie for bathroom breaks

 

A Cure for Wellness is...not great, exactly, but it is interesting. It's a cool Shining/Shutter Island mashup with really neat visuals. I respect it!

 

yeah, a lot to love but even more to hate for me

there are some good performances/ideas at least

 

That film has some sweet imagery, but man is it boring.

 

Off to see Barbarian! Trying to make sure my expectations aren't too high.

 

Even with the hype now becoming a very real component in seeing Barbarian, I would be shocked if you didn't still love most of it @Aaron Mook

What a weird coincidence my boyfriend just had me watch that for the 1st time the other day

 

Did you like it? I was not prepared for how intense it was but god I loved it

 

Barbarian was good! The hype was...a lot, lol. I think I expected it to be deeper, but it's okay that it wasn't. It was just a lot of fun. Really well acted and directed. Definitely a pastiche of a few movies that I don't want to mention to avoid spoilers for those who haven't seen it. It's good.

 

I did! I felt like it was a bit ahead if it's time regarding female exploitation and stuff and it def wasn't as straightforward as i expected

 

Satoshi Kon is the best! Check out all three P's! Perfect Blue, Paranoia Agent (a bit more horror-y; the only series on this list, with 13 episodes), and Paprika (a bit less horror-y). Also, not horror, but Millennium Actress is one of the best animated films--nay, one of the best films, period. And Tokyo Godfathers is pretty good.

 

Anyone know where I can watch Haunted Indiana? Saw someone review it on Letterboxd and it seems right up my alley, but I can't find it anywhere.

 

Quick internet search and this appears to be the one! Sounds like my kind of thing too, and only 20 minutes long!
