Ideally, you wouldn't have even seen that but you're fine. I saw it before Nope as well and this still shattered any expectations I had based on that trailer.

 

Are you guys talking about the A24 film Lamb? Because that movie is butt, unfortunately. More of a fantastical psuychological drama but without a single exciting scene lol truly one of the slowest movies I've ever seen. The ending was kinda bad in a good way, but otherwise, no bueno.

 

Drop everything you are doing this weekend and go see Barbarian

Without spoiling, where does it land on the batshit scale between something like Malignant, Get Out, or Don't Breathe? And is it like...genuinely disturbing, or is the twist just kind of shocking? Can you tell a comedian directed it? This is all I want to know before going in, but maybe I shouldn't even be asking these questions lol.

Ah that is a bummer to hear! I was genuinely interested after seeing the trailers but it never came to our theater and then I feel like I never heard another word about it. This is probably why.

Yeah, I'm pretty easy to please so it's truly unfortunate when I just straight-up don't like a movie

I will echo ghostedaway insomuch as it being evident that it was directed by someone with a background in comedy but it is equally as evident that Cregger is a genre fan. I really don't want to say much more than that though. Beating a dead horse at this point but this movie really services itself well on it's many twists and turns as it unfolds, and not knowing anything about it ramps up the enjoyment and appreciation

Had $5 off a fandango ticket so I’m seeing Barbarian in like 30 minutes.

 

Since no one could answer this question, I decided to bite the bullet. A group of teenagers were just walking through a burial ground that looked exactly like the one in Pet Sematary and one of them says, "What the fuck is this, Pet Sematary?". So it's going pretty well so far.

 

Pumpkinhead just gave someone a WWF style backbreaker.

 

Who's the actress in the Nun 2 trailer that looks like blonde Kate Mara?

 

So yeah, Barbarian was pretty out there. It was good, though.

 

Okay yeah, this movie is dope. Perfect '90s direct to video schlock. A story that doesn't make much sense, weird stylistic choices and Dutch angles for no reason. The witch is creepy, Pumpkinhead still looks cool scary, and there are some good kills. Highly recommend.

 

Tonight I’m feeling something familiar so I can zone out and not focus. Definitely going with Jason X.
