Just moving out of conferences and people having schedules planned years in the future already. They will play often over the next decade though.

12 team playoff seems rather dumb if you ask me. Won't it mean a bunch of conference championship games don't really matter cause the loser is still a top 12 team?

 

Saw someone mention this does help with parity, which I agree makes a bit of sense. 40 teams have played in NY6 games, only 13 teams have played in CFB games. (Also 25 teams have won an NY6 game compared to 6 teams winning a CFB game). So I guess it might help there.

Also I gotta wonder if this helps push back against the B1G/SEC super conferences. Feelings like winning the Big 12 might be easier way of getting in than getting 3rd or 4th in the SEC and still managing to snag an at large spot

So maybe its a good thing. Just feels like it definitely makes regular season games a lot less important.

 

Conference champion tie in is lame. Should just be the top 12 teams. Other than that, it’s great

 

I think they’ll still be important except it’s in regards to seeding rather than making it in. That bye and home field will be big incentives and like the NFL, I think it will be rare to see teams without the bye winning it all just due to wear and tear.
