Has Brendon done ANY press for this album or just been totally silent?

Also did The Today Show the day of release. Performed Viva, Middle of a Breakup, High Hopes and Sins over the course of a few hours while doing a few interviews in between.

This this this, for sure. There's nothing here that's inherently off-key - no one of this pedigree would ever let that happen - but does it sound like he is pushing his voice excruciating hard pretty much at all times, coupled with over-doing those super high falsetto's that he's become such a fan of throwing in live whenever possible? Absolutely. Sinclair and Viola should have had the wherewithal to say for really every song on the album, "hey, maybe we should drop the key of this one like a whole step so you don't pop a blood vessel trying to sing it." Or, "hey, we've already had this chorus happen about eight times in the song, do we really need to go all the way to ten?"

I feel like Star Spangled Banner is the kind of song I would absolutely love if pulled off in another way. For some reason it doesn't quite work for me but in theory it should

I am only now, 3 weeks later, realizing that song is called Star Spangled Banger, not Banner

Now I look like an idiot for telling people “There’s a song on the new Panic album called Star Spangled Banner and it might be their worst song they’ve ever put out”

This being an album tour is a choice…a very bad one.

I mean, there are 14 songs that are not from this album, that in itself is a full set

The lack of a Vices & Virtues track is disappointing but sadly expected.

I finally got around to listening to this album tonight. I think the production destroys the album tbh. Yes, the lyrics are cringe, and yes, the constant key changes are distracting, but it would ultimately be forgivable (or even interesting) if the songs sounded even remotely good.

Every time there's an interesting idea, Brendon vomits harmonies all over it, and they sound awful most of the time. Why do the background vocals on the chorus of "God Killed Rock And Roll" sound like dying animals? Why does Sad Clown has random vocal dubs that are almost twice as loud as main vocal line?

There are just random ideas thrown in on the album that make no musical sense. Like he throws in a Bohemian Rhapsody-esque vocal walkup in the chorus of 'Something About Maggie' even though it completely disrupts all of the instrumentation and doesn't fit the time signature of the song. It sounds like a part from another song just copy and pasted in with no cohesion.

The vocals are way too loud on most songs, and they go for the most dull and compressed drum and guitar sounds possible, bringing way too much attention Brendon's voice that, while technically impressive, sounds way too harsh and shrill for a mainstream album.

I'm actually oddly intrigued about the fact that they're playing the full album, that's an extremely bold choice for how weak the sales were but I'm down because I actually like the album. I'm actually least happy about the song choices that are not from the album lol

Playing the whole album actually makes me want to go more just because I know most these songs won't survive this album cycle. Feels like the one chance

I will say this. I have always had great respect for Brendon Urie and despite the fact that I do not care for this album, I think I respect him even more after seeing the setlist. This guy, one of the biggest pop stars on earth, has such belief in what he is doing, seven albums into his career, that he is playing in its entirety an album that is currently getting spit-roasted. That takes balls.

The fact that the set is 27 songs total makes it more digestible that the full album is sandwiched in the middle. Can't be doing a full 12 song album play and only have like a 20 song set

I would 100% go to this show, no questions asked, if it were coming to Cleveland.

I keep thinking this album was made to spite the success he had on his super poppy albums.. Like he wanted to go back and just have less vocal editing, but instead try to rely on his belting and live antics which come off.... too much.

I know it's late now but VetTix put up a last-minute flyer on over 1,000 free tickets to tomorrow's show in Ft Worth. How bad are these crowds?
