I’ve got someone who wants to go and found a 3 day ticket on stubhub for $150. Should we trust that?

It's right at 60 minutes, so I guess it's possible... that's like my fifth or sixth favorite Coheed album though lol

a 20 year album play of Second Stage Turbine would blow my mind, but I'd be extremely shocked

Oh shit! Didnt realize it was 20 years of it!

I will be honest, I like Coheed but if they booked whole C&C/AK3/Mothica (2 of those play Riot last year) a month and a half after they play Chicago would be a bummer for me...but, if they play Second Stage Turbine Blade in full, I will be pretty stoked!

  4. Coheed during the lightning storm last year ruled. I'm indifferent about an album play from them, but I'd like to hear some of the new album live.

I missed Coheed to go see Beach Bunny last year, so I'm perfectly fine if that's who's filling in.

Stubhub has a money back guarantee, but I think after fees.. Tixel is the best bet (I believe others on here have used it if you need more verification), a much lower fee (like $12) and has a money back guarantee as well

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

I finally got to see Coheed earlier this year and loved their set, I'd definitely see them over Sunny Day if they hopped in that slot instead.

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

Coheed teased a while back that they were gonna do something to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Second Stage. But nothing has come of it (yet)… Would be cool if they did it at Riot, but I hope they do a full tour of it (because that’s like, one of my all-time favorite albums)

I am ok with Coheed. Missed them last year to get a great spot for Pumpkins. Would also like to see Saosin, but I am perfectly OK with C&C.

I was kinda bummed about that at first because I was really looking forward to the Circle Jerks. But, given the way the weather was looking we opted to hide under the VIP tent and watch Coheed instead...

One of the best decisions I've ever made. They were their usual epic selves, but with the downpour at the start of the set and the scattered lightning clearly just skirting the edges of what might be problematic to the festival all over the sky, it was one of the more memorable concert experiences I've ever had.

I'm with you on the new album too. Give me the hits plus 3-4 of those new bangers and it would be a fantastic hour.

Man, that would be sick! Album is just long enough they could play it through and maybe do 1-2 other songs. Having that as an album play would definitely add to the draw too.

Reddit Update: The RiotFestPerson on Reddit said "phone lines are sizzling here at Riot Fest HQ" in response to somebody saying they probably have some usual bands they're calling up...

That was 2 hours ago. And I can't tell if them ignoring the Coheed post on there is telling or not. Haha. I feel like they just found out about this news this AM just before we all did. So I'm back to 50-50 again.

One more suggestion I would like to see...have Blindside come in a bit early for their set at Furnace Fest. I love Silence and would really enjoy seeing that live again. I know none of this is possible, but that's ok.

To further fuel Coheed playing: Travis will already be there playing with LS Dunes

No Trigger got added to the Fear aftershow.

The e-mail also said "single day and 3-day tickets are nearly sold out" again so... That kinda means nothing anymore. Haha.

Is it crazy to think Thursday might fill that Bauhaus slot since they're already gonna be there for the aftershow that night?

Edit: Coheed still has that listed on their events page on Facebook. Almost feels like it means it's not them. Usually when shit gets posted early that isn't acknowledged publicly by the festival and people catch onto it... it disappears. Hah.

Definitely a much smaller get than Bauhaus. But I wouldn't fully rule it out. I would definitely put them on the short list of "highly likely" if we see somebody earlier in the day drop, though.

Man, I kinda hope we don't see a swath of artists cancelling last minute like we had last year.

I wonder if they're not adding support to Alk3 anymore, doesn't say TBA support on the website now

I'm not sure if these bands have been mentioned or viable Bauhaus replacement options since they're overseas, but would definitely be a good fit and available:

    Sisters of Mercy
    HIM
    Mercyful Fate

Unfortunately, Alice Cooper isn't available, but if he was, that would have been a great replacement.

HIM disbanded in 2017, but their singer is playing a solo tour soon.

I know a few people mentioned being a bit "too young" to catch Midtown on the first go-round and I just stumbled across this on youTube... Undeniably the most cringe moment of their career?

(Please forgive the cringe AF thumbnail/screen grab that came along with this. But it's a good demonstration of how cheeseball the whole video/clip is. It's basically them playing while a bunch of attractive 20-somethings run around a beach.)

There was a point in the early 2000s were they arguably had potential to become another big "pop-punk" breakthrough act like New Found Glory or Blink-182. Didn't quite get there but... Man, was this fucking weird to see on my TV screen back then. I remember hearing they would be "performing" and uh yeah. Not quite. They basically did the theme song.

And that's about as much as MTV ever bothered with them, hah.

i will not allow for The Challenge Slander! lol. this is still the early era of the show when it was mostly goofy and not super serious competition, reality stars trying to get some more tv time and a little bit of money, where as now the people who go on (some of which are in this video, lol) train year round for it and make their entire living off of it.

I mean, look... The show is what it is. I enjoyed at the time, TBH. Haha. But that doesn't make this particular video any less cringe for a band like Midtown to be involved with.

Oh! And let's also not forget Real World Season 10: Chicago where that one chick had Midtown and New Found Glory over the house. And also the Miz was there and went to a Taproot concert.
