Don't Let the Light Go Out is "I can't listen to the album without playing it at least twice" good. God Killed Rock and Roll is awesome and I think the best execution of the suite style song. Say It Louder is just so god damn fun. Probably my top 3 here, but also love the title track, Sad Clown, and All By Yourself

  3. Title had been stuck in my head for days. Love that the video references Hausu

Wouldn’t be surprised if there ends up being a video for every song. We’re at the 5th already and it’s been out for 4 days.

Every time I listen to this album I like it more, it's really a grower. I even don't think MOAB is abysmal anymore, just below average

Sad Clown is one of my favorite songs of the year so far

Hits Daily Double has this debuting at 14 with 23,000 copies.

last album debuted at #1 with 180,000 sold.

Was expecting a drop but that’s bigger than I thought it would be.

I know now everyone likes talking about numbers but I love following them.

I think Brendon knew deep down it wouldn't be a big seller with the direction he went on VLV and that's why he's only really been promoting it on his pages and besides the TODAY show, hasn't promoted it anywhere else. Plus none of the songs sounds like something that would be played on top 40 radio.

Radio hits or not, that's legit shocking if he debuts that low.

Also, Brendon did a Sirius XM interview and he did say that halfway through the album process it started turning into a rock opera but he said he scaled things back a bit to make it more fun.

Probably why this album is all over the place.

Really wish he would have went full-go into the rock opera idea(s)

This thing is pure cheese. That Dead Kennedy’s reference in Star Spangled Banner is the epitome of cringe.

I have to wonder why go down this route then unless he's really proud / into the sound he's created here. I mean he had several big hits on the PFTW including the monster High Hopes, you just would have thought that he would have capitalised off of the huge success there and made sure this had somewhat the same impact or possibly take it to the next level.

4 years later with a pretty mediocre album after a very popular last album just seems a huge misstep.

Tour starts in a couple weeks... wonder how those arenas are selling.

They closed off the top level at my local arena, and I wouldn't be surprised if other venues followed suit.

Based on many of the comments about Brendon's vocals being out of tune on this album, I've completely lost my ability to hear whether or not something is off-key. I've played several instruments since I was six years old - I don't have perfect pitch or anything, but I cringe whenever something is out of tune.

It's starting to bother me because I'm not hearing any significant pitch issues with his singing on this album. Straining at times? Sure. But that's about it.
