Does anyone randomly go through phases where they realize a new appreciation for an old blink track? Like a couple months ago I was revisiting 'Pathetic' and 'Apple Shampoo' a ton, and then today I found myself thinking that 'Man Overboard' may be one of my top 5 favorite songs from their discography

Yup! This happened to me recently with Lemmings.

Oh yeah definitely. Before California came out I revisited all the albums again and I really underrated Mark's songs on Dude Ranch, while also realizing that most of Tom's songs pre Enema are very hit or miss, mostly miss.

I also realized that while I always liked Every Time I Look for You, it's truly one of their best songs and definitely in my top 10. I never really had an opinion on Online Songs until a couple of months ago too.

Good call on Lemmings, definitely a hidden gem.

  5. That happened with me and "Josie" this year. I think it might be my favorite Blink single, other than "Not Now."

  6. i think it would be so hard for me to only pick 10 Blink songs for a "Top 10" list haha

  7. So I tried...

    Not Now
    Apple Shampoo
    Josie
    Carousel
    Dammit
    Everytime I Look For You
    Feeling This
    Going Away To College
    21 Days
    Pathetic

I feel like it's still too soon to add any California to my "Top 10 Blink songs" list, but "Bored To Death" and "She's Out Of Her Mind" are definitely contenders.

I kind of wish Blink did what taking back Sunday is doing right now.... Play the new cd front to back and then play the old stuff

  9. there's a good chunk of California songs i'd love to hear live, but i dunno... i'd rather them play only older songs and then play a few California songs at the end... haha.

they should do what Less Than Jake did a few years ago, where they had a big wheel on the stage, and they'd spin it to determine what song they were going to play next. they did that for the whole show. that'd be fun for Blink to do!

Sooooo similar, swap out 21 Days and Josie with like Man Overboard and Stay Together For The Kids.

But then ask me tomorrow and I'll probably include Anthem Part 2, Wendy Clear, Always, and Dysentery Gary so who the hell knows

  13. Josie is soooo good! 21 Days had POTENTIAL to be amazing. I wish they had brought that song back, even just for Cheshire Cat. I talk about that song way too much here... haha

  14. In preparation for my Blink show in a few hours, I'm listening to California in full right now for the first time in almost a month probably... It's a fun little album! I think it's good I gave it a little break. I kinda wore it out in the first week or so of its release.

I've noticed that it's the kind of album that I get kind of bored of when I'm listening with headphones at work. But when I play it on speakers in my apartment, like when I'm getting ready to go out, I really get into it

FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

I don't remember if I ever tried to do a blink top 10.

    Adam's Song
    Stockholm Syndrome
    Emo
    Apple Shampoo
    Man Overboard
    San Diego
    Wendy Clear
    Lemmings
    Online Songs
    Always

That seems like a weird list and the order could vary but I'm happy with those ten haha.

    In no order:

    Feeling This
    Apple Shampoo
    Down
    Everytime I Look For You
    All of This
    Going Away to College
    Not Now
    Stockholm Syndrome
    Pathetic
    Anthem Pt. II

I think Cynical is the only California track I'd have close to my top ten. I have a lot of honorable mentions though: Untitled, Dumpweed, Roller Coaster, Carousel, I Miss You, Josie, Stay Together for the Kids, Here's Your Letter, Asthenia, maybe Sober and Teenage Satellites sneak up there too.

Down has grown on me a lot. I always liked it but I think it kills live and lately it's become one of my favorite songs of the swoopy hair, early 2000s angsty emo/pop punk era. Tom's lyrics are borderline nonsensical and almost hilariously elementary, especially given how serious the song is trying to be, but I kind of love it. I love the simplicity of it, just repeating that one octave, I love those repeated shakers and piano at the end, Travis' drums sound fucking great, it's just become one of my favorite blink songs. Maybe because it feels so Box Car-y with the sad, lovelorn, muted verses and then the angsty explosion of the chorus, tempered by Mark's calm "down" refrain. Skiba kills it live, too.

No order other than Adams Song on top.

    Adams Song
    Stockholm Syndrome
    Man Overboard
    Not Now
    Pathetic
    All of This
    Here's Your Letter
    Untitled
    Violence/Obvious
    Apple Shampoo

PS. I wish they would remaster/rerecord Pathetic

This is tough, kind of in order, Always is probably my favourite song by any band ever just for the bass.

    Always
    Down
    Feeling This
    After Midnight
    Adam's Song
    Not Now
    Roller Coaster
    What Went Wrong
    I Miss You
    Kaleidoscope

HMs to She's Out of Her Mind, Apple Shampoo, Anthem Pt. 2, Asthenia & Carousel.

  21. Welp! My show came and went! It was pouring rain the entire set, but it was a lot of fun and my voice is gone. I hate the "bro crowd" that this band seems to bring to shows, buuuut it's all good. Anyway, the band sounded awesome, despite the wind and rain. Notable songs played: Reckless Abandon, Dysentery Gary, Not Now, San Diego, and Pathetic (just kidding). I haven't been keeping up on the setlists lately so I'm not sure what's more common than not, but yeah. Very fun show!

With blink-182, Green Day, and Jimmy Eat World all releasing albums this year, I think a Pop Disaster 15 year anniversary tour needs to happen
