AS someone who has been to (quite literally) nearly 2,000 shows in my life and seen plenty of arguments/fights break out, there has not been ONE that I've seen where someone having a gun would have made things better and/or safer.

 

I've seen enough drunk douchebags at shows get too violent to know that allowing firearms into shows would be without a doubt the worst possible idea.

 

The band is split between Phoenix & LA so a one-off in Vegas is totally doable too. Hypothetically, drive 4 hours to Vegas & play Friday night then go to the fest for free all weekend, I'd do that in a heartbeat. I couldn't imagine The Summer Set touring with either, but I would absolutely love for them to tour with Story of the Year

This Korn/Evanescence tour seems to be doing reasonably well (At least at Jones Beach) which is surprising.

 

I saw them this past weekend and they said they have a tour planned for the fall and we'd see them again soon. They did an acoustic tour with SWS ages ago too.

 

Oliver Tree's Minneapolis show got moved from our 8000 cap ballroom to a 1500 cap club which ended up pushing August Burns Red's show out of that 1500 club, and into a 900 person club. Big ouch for Oliver Tree, but that ABR show will probably still be a fun one.

I thought this dude keeps having erratic performances and various melt-downs (even post age 50). Has he got it together?

 

I think saying he "keeps having erratic performances and various meltdowns" is a grossly unfair overstatement. It was a few shows on one tour that just happen to be their most recent run. Beyond that, I really can't think of anything going down with them post-reunion. So that's nearly 19 years. I'm going to call this last run a blip.

Not downplaying that last situation but, I dunno... I kinda think the whole vibe will be different on a headliner. Drugs and alcohol definitely played a factor, but ego was 100% at play there too.

 

I need to know what happened

 

Reading a quote in the article, Everclear pulled out because the promoters lacked "adequate means to provide the level of experience our fans expect and deserve while attending an Everclear show." Other bands cited "unforeseen circumstances."

I'm guessing it was either pathetic ticket sales relative to the venue size or the promoters didn't know what the fuck they were doing, had a stage the wrong size or something wonky like that.

 

I've seen Everclear play to like 100 people on several occasions, I'm leaning towards the latter and also really want to know what happened!!

 

All three of the artists who initially dropped definitely give off "libertarian anti-vax/flat earth" energy so my brain is going in several different directions... But I'm also veering toward some fuck-up on the logistical end.
