I would think the story will probably nudge you in the direction of how the gym levels progress without forcing you do them in that order. And I’m sure they will have an NPC or something that will give you an idea of what the levels the trainers/leaders have before you start so you don’t go in blind.

 

Would be so much easier to just set their main guy’s level to yours and other Pokémon to a few below. Then increase it so they’re higher leveled than you for the later gyms. Would be fun and pretty easy to do I’m sure. Without level scaling they’re just technically not in any order.

 

Incidentally there are already a few gyms in other games you can do out of sequence (Brawly and Winona in RSE, most of the middle gyms in gen 1, etc). I know making it open world is much bigger than that, but honestly without level scaling I don’t imagine the progression will feel THAT much different from normal, if you just get bashed around any time you try to enter a late game area

 

In regards to the gyms, I wonder if this game will let you catch whatever level of Pokémon you want whenever you want rather than having to wait until you reach a certain gym badge.

It was also super easy to level up in the last game once you got to a certain level of dynamax dens, curious if that will be the same or not.

In some ways this game is giving me a sun and moon part three deluxe vibe so far, I don’t mean that in a bad way.

 

Out of curiosity, how so?

 

oh wow the lack of gym scaling is such a miss. totally counterintuitive to the "play the stories how you want" angle.

do we know what those gear/platform things scattered throughout the map are? theres one in the desert for reference.

 

Seen some speculation that they're gonna be serving a similar purpose to BOTW Sheikah towers/AC style viewpoints.

 

Maybe someone here can help me out. I’m finally trying to pay for Pokémon home but it wants me to use google Authenticator, which I did set up a long time ago. I’ve since gotten a new phone and it wants me to set it up using my old device which I no longer have. I tried following the steps on the Nintendo support page but I don’t know what to put for my account because my Nintendo account isn’t s gmail account. Anyone have any tips?

i think this is the first new pokemon im not feeling.

also nice to see ex come back, hopefully it means the end of 3 prize pokemon. although they could easily find a way to bring that back
