I love all of the Feldman songs on Nine Minus the last two (Hungover You, Remember to Forget Me). The Pagnotta / Watt songs get a skip for me as well. Without those songs, it is a killer 10-song album that is a nice progression from California.

Nine felt like they got better at melding Matt's darker Alk3 influences with Blink's sound. Like there were moments where I picked out "oh that's a Matt thing right there" but it wasn't explicitly something that could have been an Alkaline Trio song (though there are a couple on there I think could have been)

There weren't as many of those moments on California. The bridge of San Diego was one, especially when the guitars kick in

It's definitely a personal preference thing. People seem to really love those songs. I love the way On Some Emo Shit ends with that guitar part.

Nine deconstructed the “here’s how pop punk sounds” direct formula used on California and incorporated some darker elements and production pieces that I wanted them to lean on from Untitled.

I love both Cali and Nine but Nine wins out for me. Both have amazing memories tied to them though. Seems like we’ll always have great blink summers.

I wish that Nine got the same hype/promotion that California got. I hate that it was released at the end of their summer tour and seemingly forgotten about soon afterwards.

Cheshire is really good. Carousel, Strings, Peggy Sue, Wasting Time, Mark and Tom always had it.

  18. "Wasting Time" is still the one for me on here. Freshman year of college AIM message alllllllllll the time. Was used so much it was a saved Away Message.

Still like California, but the novelty of a lot of it wore off after a bit (especially after the deluxe). There’s only one or two that I don’t really like though.

Nine is still a no-skip album for me though. I’m disappointed in the lack of mention of “Pin the Grenade” in here.

“Pin The Grenade” might be my most played on the album next to “On Some Emo Shit”

9 is great if you cut like half the songs. I made a mix of 9 that could be a top 5 Blink album if they released it

“Go” from Untitled is also underrated. Great lyrics and Tom just screaming GO! a bunch throughout
