My kids think "Put Your Back Into the Oar" is one of the greatest songs ever.

 

I cannot articulate how jealous I am. Post some pics this year. I can't imagine anything cooler than seeing WITTR in the wilderness.

 

UK death/doom in the vein of My Dying Bride and Paradise Lost. Also their first album in 28 years.

Probably a hot take here, but Cattle Decapitation is my least favorite band on that bill by far. I haven't been able to get into any of their releases too deeply since The Harvest Floor mostly because of the weird ass clean vocals Travis has done over their last few releases.

They were pretty good live though the one time I saw them with Atheist and Author & Punisher...pity that was also the tour that Full of Hell got robbed on or else it would have been an even better night.

And those weird ass clean vocals are one of the things I like about Cattle Decapitation. They make me laugh every time and more metal needs to make me laugh.

Like if Phil wanted to assemble an all-star cover band to play Pantera songs under a different name, that would be cool as plenty of artists have done that in the past, most recently with the Cavalera brothers playing the seminal Sepultura albums. Him touring under that name with a hired band is pretty shitty though, like there’s a reason why Dimebag and Vinnie refused to talk to or associate with him.

 

Especially when he's done Pantera sets with the Illegals in the last few years. Like there is nothing special about this other than Rex being involved, but him and Phil still did Down for 10 years together so it's not even that special.
