  1. What is your random memory from the original lockdown of march 2020? Mine are the videos that popped up of animals “reclaiming the land” and half of them turned out to be filmed way before the pandemic lol

How does this only cost $40?

I live 40 minutes outside of Toronto, and the train into the city that takes an hour (multiple stops) costs like $23 round trip lol

Might not be the kind of memory you’re looking for, but I was on a cruise when the pandemic really broke out (we’d heard about covid before we left, but most people didn’t really think it was a big deal yet), and I’ll never forget walking up to the bar in the casino on the ship, glancing at ESPN on one of the tvs and seeing that the NBA had shut down the season. It was right then and there I knew we were in for a world of hurt and I had to get the fuck home lol

Things like that are always so funny to me. You can literally type the name of the country on an iPhone and it will bring up the proper flag lol

Going to Meijer and seeing literally nothing on the toilet paper, cleaning supplies, and paper towel shelves. Seeing that and all the other shelves stocked like normal felt surreal.

I just have a lot of memories of laying on the couch in what I now think was a long covid stupor, watching the updates on the news. The grim reports out of NYC, the covid case counter ticking up, etc. Trump sounding like a complete fucking goon every time he spoke.

I’ve already told the story before of how I had been stocking up for 3-4 weeks prior because I knew it was gonna get bad, and being on my way to the grocery store and hearing the NBA news break on sports talk radio. That changed my small grocery trip into a big trip because I knew it was about to get really bad/crowded at the stores and didn’t want to have to go back out for anything

Random memory is - and sorry beforehand - is calling each and every one of my family members in tears saying that they probably shouldn't come to our wedding in April 2020 because we lived in Seattle at the time, which was an early hotspot for COVID.

My mom did end up coming to our backyard wedding, for which I'm eternally grateful for. Can't imagine having no family there.

not random, but my exact memory of March 13, 2020: that morning at 9am I had my last post op appointment for my ACL where the doc told me I didn't have to do PT anymore. He suggested joining a gym so I could use the bikes and treadmill. By 5pm that night the world shut down...including gyms....I am still behind on my own personal rehab for this damn knee 2 years later.

Sitting on the couch after work, scrolling instagram and seeing Nick Mullen had cancelled his tour I had tickets to. That's when I knew this was serious business.

iirc the hope was dashed by then for me. I remembered drinking on the one Super Tuesday on March 3rd watching the results come in and being so disappointed

Pa and their silly drive-thru beer distributors, then you gotta go across town to get everything else at the actual Liquor store. However, I do miss just walking into a bar or even the bowling alley and buying at 6 pack of beer. so fucking Weird!

Rudy Gobert testing positive for COVID, and then later that night the NBA just being like “season suspended” was pretty wild. Felt ominous.

By late April/early May I was starting to come out of my long covid/anxiety/whatever it was funk and me and my friends started playing Warzone a lot. I think we had been playing Apex in December/Jan/feb, and then kinda picked back up with Warzone in aprilish and yeah that first summer/fall was golden age Warzone tbh
