  1. Enjoy. It might be my favorite horror film of all-time.

Started Escape from NY last night. Glad to see it on Shudder. That and Big Trouble in Little China have eluded me for quite some time.

  6. I've watched Escape From New York twice and despite loving Carpenter and Russell, it still hasn't clicked with me...love Big Trouble though.

Disconnected was okay. Way weirder and more serious than I was expecting. The “Complicated Game” soundtracked scene was dope. I needed more Carmine though!

  8. Disconnected works more on second watch when you know what you're in for, definitely a different flavor than Psychos in Love

Man. I hope I get my shipping confirmation soon!

Savage Harvest starts off slow but is a TON of fun for a SOV regional Evil Dead ripoff. Great gore

Absolutely loved Escape from NY. Everything from its concept to execution worked for me. Kurt Russell's Snake was everything I could've asked for from a completely over-the-top hardened, famous, criminal playing the good guy against his will role. Also in reading trivia about it on imdb, I saw it's being remade by Leigh Whannell so that should be interesting.

  11. Love Whannell, but the original casting was The Rock and I really hope that's changed lol

Oh god. Yeah, I had no idea that this idea of the remake has been in development hell since like 2007. Just reading about it all now and this really stuck out to me:

Kurt Russell's son, Wyatt Russell was rumored to his dad's iconic role of Snake Plissken, he said no to the role saying that "Although that's very kind, that will not be happening," "There will be no Snake reboot from me, that's like career suicide 101. That's like what not to do. I don't know if anybody else could be Snake Plissken. Good luck, go get 'em, I sincerely wish you the best of luck. I just don't know how it's possible. And for me, if I really wanted to get people sending me hate mail, I think that's what I should do. I will not be ever doing anything like that."

Speaking of Whannell.. I wonder if they're still working on turning Upgrade into a series.

Upgrade was a blast and I adored The Invisible Man

  15. Invisible Man was so good. Been wanting to rewatch but I loaned it to my mom who loves thrillers and haven't gotten it back yet lol. Should probably revisit Upgrade because I loved the premise but was split on the execution. (Then again, those are the kinds of movies I usually wind up loving on repeat viewings.)

Watching more Argento stuff and loving it all. His camera work is so much fun. The scores rule too.

Been on a modern horror kick lately(The Night House, Candyman, Wolf of Snow Hollow etc) though definitely ready for some good vintage horror soon. Can someone rec me some good 80’s/90’s Cronenberg type shtuff?

Pretty meh on Invaders from Mars. Did not like the main kid at all. Some pretty cool practical effects, but virtually no gore. Like Lifeforce, this also felt too long/bloated to me. The scene where David hides in the van was cool though because it clearly is a little callback to TTCM
