I guess the only logical thing to do to make sure this never happens again is to give everyone in Japan a gun.

the thing is the killer didn't buy a gun, he home made his own shotgun and killed abe with it. please don't let conservatives try to frame this as a reason why gun control doesn't work. i know they're going to anyways but i'm just hoping.

 

This is nice I guess, because I think I probably qualify for this, but it seems so crazy to *not* help out anyone making less than $38,000. The people who would seem to need help the most. Because you sent them $500 before?? Good thing you already fixed any problems they may have had by sending them $500. Problem: solved. Fuck them this time though.

 

I probably won't qualify for it cause I was in and out of work in 2021 and I owed taxes so....oh well. But like, $250 just isn't enough for someone who only makes $600 a week. Like, for realz.

 

I don't really care about getting money from the state or government. Like that extra $600 we got for unemployment summer 2020 was great. That shit helped me out so much as I was newly single and laid off work because of covid.

I just wish they would know what its like to live paycheck to paycheck and realize that a $250 rebate won't really help pay for all the money we spent on gas and groceries these last few months.

but that's just my thinking.

 

I can't find the tweet now but I think it was in response to the school shooting in Uvalde talking about how Democrats and Republicans both are both horrible, and it said something like who do you get mad at more when your house burns down, the person who lit it on fire or the fire department who showed up on scene and sang a song and asked you for $12 and still never did anything to try to put the fire out?

I really struggle with the means testing stuff because oftentimes it ends up taking something that is allegedly supposed to help people and makes it seem more vicious and fucked up than simply not doing anything at all. You're not pretending everything is fine, you're aware of the problem and have studied it in detail, and you're gonna do something to help - but fuck these people specifically ???

 

Like I know families that have like 4 kids and only one working parent, or a single mom of 4 who gets zero help from the father because he went off and started a family with someone else and doesn't give a shit about his first 4 kids. My friend probably won't get any help and that really pisses me off. Like I don't need the money, give it to my single friend who needs to get school clothes and supplies for her kids and gas to take them to school because she can't afford the fucking School Bus fee for 4 kids.

I could rant all day, but I won't.

I'm a single, childless 38 year old....I'll manage....my friend has been seriously struggling for 18 years....like, how is that fair?!?!

I didn't vote last election. I was in a really bad place mentally, hardly left the house, was drinking a lot, my step father died, my mom went crazy, I had my heart ripped out, my brother left the only home he ever knew because of my crazy ass mother....

and well I just didn't care for Trump or Biden....I know its no excuse, but that was the reality of my life.

But you can count on me voting for the next one, even If i have to write someone in.
