Won lottery tickets to the Hello Dolly tour with Betty Buckley while it was in Boston. Enjoyed it way more than I was expecting to!

Also- a friend bought me a ticket to see the Six while it is here. It's heading to Broadway soon and has been getting insanely good reviews. Looking forward to seeing what the hype is about!

 

I saw Six this week, which is coming to Broadway next year. It was really fun. Only one act, less than 90 minutes, and it FLIES by. Quirky concept, really catchy music, excellent performances.
I am, however, really glad I was able to see it here in Cambridge for $25, three rows from the stage, versus what I'm sure will be $150 in NYC to be in the last row in the theater. lol

 

Gonna see The Book Of Mormon for the second time tonight. Entered to get tickets through the Lucky Seat program thingy so was able to grab $145 tickets for $42.

 

Got to see a really good friend of mine perform in Hamilton last night and it was an amazing experience! Definitely brought one of my favorite shows to a completely different level.

 

It's weird that this and Tootsie are playing simultaneously

 

awesome, I had heard good things, and for those who don't know They Might Be Giants, Cyndi Lauper, Panic At The Disco , Sara Bareilles and a bunch more contributed to the score

yikes. Show is a damn mess and is THREE AND A HALF HOURS LONG.

 

So I saw Dear Evan Hansen and while I loved the music and had a good time, the more and more I thought about it, it seemed like a pretty toxic play and the morality of it was gross

Random question. What happens if any of the musicians get sick? I know lead actors/actresses have understudies. Is it the same for the musicians?

 

I stumbled in here way late so you may have gotten an answer to this but pit members usually have a small group of subs that they’ve worked with and prepped to know the book and such. Musicians are only required to perform 50% of the shows in a year so if they’re sick or go on tour or do clinics or whatever they usually have a network of people who can jump in. Carter McLean (drummer for The Lion King) talks about it on his episode of The Working Drummer Podcast and also breaks down the pay structure if you’re interested in that side of things

A strange loop is worth the hype.

Beetlejuice is worth it for the tech alone, but the show itself is genuinely good, too!

Play wise, i haven’t seen POTUS but I’ve only heard good things.
