Anyone watch the new Emma Roberts’ movie Abandoned?

 

Is it streaming anywhere?

 

It hit VOD yesterday for rent/purchase or there's other means obviously.

 

The Black Phone was good. Great story - didn’t realize it’s based off one of Joe Hill’s first stories. Was hoping it would be more scary like Sinister was, but I still enjoyed it.

 

Just finished watching the new Maika Monroe movie, Watcher, and I absolutely loved it. Highly recommend

 

Men (Alex Garland) is out there for anybody that's been dying to see it but also couldn't make it out to the theaters to see it

 

Crimes of the Future at 6:45 this evening

I keep starting Crimes and just getting bored and falling asleep lol

 

I want to see Watcher so bad

 

I'm waiting for Crimes to not be $20 on VOD

 

Not sure how to feel about Crimes of the Future yet. Definitely need to process and sit with it for a bit. It reminded me of The Matrix a little bit haha

 

Random thought: I’m watching Joe Dante and Wes Craven interviews…it’s amazing how similar these guys’ mannerisms are.

 

if it's anything like Jennifer's Body let's hope it doesn't take over a decade for people to appreciate it.

 

The Black Phone was pretty good. Pretty unsettling, with a satisfying amount of supernatural elements. A little superficial character-wise, but the acting was good, especially Madeleine McGraw and Ethan Hawke. What's interesting is even though it's about the titular haunted phone, the most scary thing about the film is Hawke's portrayal of the villain.

 

2+ hours!
