  6. Feel like I was the odd one out that wasn’t very impressed with All Hail, and Corey’s devotion to MAGA has honestly made it tough for me to even reach for their back catalogue much anymore. Can’t say with certainty that I won’t at least give this a listen, but my level of anticipation is basically on the floor

Has Corey publicly said anything stupid since the BLM thing?

Not to my knowledge. He wisely nuked all his social media.

It's gonna be strange listening to a song called Penny Margs that will probably be heavy as hell

Here for it. All Hail was a renaissance for me with this band after being into them at the height of the Christian metalcore scene.

I’ll check this out but I feel very apathetic towards all things Norma Jean these days and that’s 100% due to Corey’s stupidity. I wanna believe he realized the error of his ways and that’s why he (correctly) wiped his social media… but that’s a tall order.

Anyways; I did love All Hail and I’ll check this record out because of that but I do hate the cover art. I always think album covers with surfing is lame unless it’s a literal surf rock band lol

    I do not exist.

Artwork looks good. Haven’t heard a Norma Jean record for many a year and missed All Hail for many of the reasons above.

Looks like the "surfer" is being levitated off the board.

From someone who lost a loved one to COVID - shit like that literally makes my blood boil. I’ll give the record a spin but my days of actually supporting NJ financially are over for now.

The album artwork for All Hail was a bit much for me. I swear I see the same pray hands tattoo “design?” everywhere.

but fuck I also hadn’t seen the fucking surfer in the artwork until now and now I kinda hate it too

Yeah ok fine I will check it out, IE preorder it and probably like it even though the band is Cory the Butthead & Friends now

    I'm into it.

  23. Cory's dumbassery aside, another thing that adds to my apathy is Jeff Hickey's absence. Once the band started shifting towards having a rotating line-up and he joined, he quickly became an integral part of the post-Meridional albums. From a few interviews and his Instagram posts, I was led to believe he was behind some of the best riffs they've written in the past decade.

Song is fine, but it also isn't that different from what Cory recently put out with his other Norma Jean sounding project.

Yeah it does sound very similar to orphantwin.

Also I don't think the cover art is a surfer, but a celestial body or some shit?

Norma Jean always have awesome artwork, this is no different, especially with that slipcover.
