On a more positive note, I would really recommend Football365 - Football News, Views, Gossip and much more.... in general as a football website. Insightful, interesting and funny. Their daily Mediawatch section is fantastic.

I think this is pretty cool. Didn't know Rakitic was studying to be an architect when he was young.

Maybe one for the English here, but I've spent the last few hours at work on a pure nostalgia trip watching episodes of Football Italia from the mid-late 90s online. One of my first introductions to football, watching James Richardson eat some pastry, drink a coffee, reading Gazetta Dello Sport and introducing the games. Serie A in the 90s was at its absolute peak. Used to a have a Juventus away strip from 1997 (?) with Del Piero on the back. One of my most treasured possessions.

 

Having lived in Barcelona, his architecture is simply stunning. Pretty good comparison really.

I was a little too young to remember this (I was 6/7 in 1999) but I remember really liking Fiorentina and disliking Juventus. I also disliked Michael Schumacher and Real Madrid so I guess I just dislike overly dominant teams haha. James Richardson presents Football Weekly now too, if it's the same guy, which is pretty decent (Although I prefer Football Ramble).

 

Yeah, I've been there three times. Gaudi's phenomenal. I could spend all day walking inside Sagrada Familia. Conveniently, I could also spend all day watching Messi play footy.

 

not that it wasn't always a rag of course, but i really doubled down on my distate for them after that appalling spread they ran on female MPs' bodies

my newbieness is actually more than a regular newbie status haha. I've become familiar enough with the sport over the past 2-3 years by playing both fifa and physically myself, but this is the first season I've actively followed any leagues. Everton in EPL and Toronto in MLS. I think I picked a great first year for PL though haha.

@mrgenious You'll find fellow Evertonians and Toronto fans in this thread. Definitely agree about the EPL this season, it's been crazy -- just wish it was my team punching higher!

Pretty self-serving, but have you ever watched El Clasico? The next one is this weekend.

 

yeah, I watched the last one at a bar with a couple of friends. one of my close friends is a big Barca fan. might have to see about that though, I didn't realize it was this weekend

 

...totally just realized I won't even be home to watch it myself. What type of Barca fan schedules plans on that game?!
