Ok reading the rest of the story on Reddit and jfc this is fucked. Tilian is definitely a monster

 

FWIW… the accuser is a very close friend of mine. While she’s remaining anonymous for the time being, she has proof. I won’t say more than I should right now but I figured I should say that.

 

The Reddit comments are, predictably I guess, horrific.

 

Absolutely sickening. I hope Coheed gets wind of this and removes them from the summer tour. Tillian cannot have a platform with what he’s doing to people. Christ.

 

i don’t blame her for remaining anonymous at least for the time being. the cult of DGD is gonna do everything they can to eat her alive.

that being said, i really hope that, with the safety of the victim(s) in mind, this gains attention and momentum and doesn’t get swept under the rug. someone like Tilian should not have a platform or opportunities to keep doing this. no way this was the first time this happened, and they’re enough of a bizarre institution in the scene that the mere idea of coming forward probably seems terrifying.

this guy has to be stopped.

the commenters on the reddit thread kept saying “well why didn’t you file a police report blah blah blah” … let me be very clear when i say this… POLICE DO NOT GIVE A SINGLE FLYING FUCK ABOUT ABUSE REPORTS AND WILL SHRUG IT OFF NO MATTER HOW MUCH EVIDENCE YOU PRESENT

 

that was tough to read. I’m glad she spoke up and it’s sad to hear there are others that have been in the same situation as her

 

DGD is 2 for 2 with horrifically shitty singers now.

 

Well, 2 for 4, Kurt and Jon seem to be fine as far as this type of stuff goes.

Dumb jokes aside, that's horrid and I hope the victim gets the support they deserve.

 

@beachdude if your friend needs anything, anything at all to help her through this, please let us know. I’m so sorry. What happened to her is horrific and devastating, we can only hope that Tilian loses his platform and never hurts anybody again.

Do ppl realize they can just say nothing? Like if you (general you) srsly have doubts and wanna hang back and wait for more info you are welcome do so, silently. No need to demand more info/proof while using victim blaming tropes as justification. Just say nothing at that point.

Not at all shocking to hear about Tilian, but still very disappointing, infuriating, and heartbreaking to hear about regardless

 

Really hope they make a statement. Feel bad for the survivor and the rest of the band. They have had a rough year with Matt’s alcoholism and Tim’s death.
