It looks like You're Next. I'm guessing the connection to Pooh is literally just the masks they're wearing. It being in the title is probably just to turn heads and garner attention which admittedly is working right now it seems.

VinSyn 1/2 Way sale tonight! @Aaron Mook i know you’re already on it. Eyeing anything in particular?

If anyone wants to build their physical media collection, tonight starts one of only two times throughout the year that the Vinegar Syndrome (and partner label) flicks are on sale. I can offer recs if you want!

  4. I'm getting married in the Fall, so unfortunately, I think I have to sit this one out. But I've been having a blast rewatching through my current VinSyn collection!

Fuck, Night Train to Terror is so good. So fucking weird and bad and unique. Basically, 3 full length films were edited down to be an anthology. There’s an insane wrap around involving a rock band playing the same song over and over as well as the devil and god arguing philosophy. Stop motion killer bugs, lobotomies, gore. It’s so good! On Tubi for free, too!

I’ve had it sitting in my collection for a while. Planned on watching with a big group but was feeling it tonight. A must watch! Probably better with a (drunk) crew, but you’re going to love it. This is my next group watch pick. Maybe *worse* than Spookies? Idk I love it

I need to take some time to dive into 80s schlock horror. I grew up on 90s and early 2000s cheese, but rarely left those decades.

80s/early 90s sleeze has really numbed me to anything else in the genre haha. Once I reached the depths of SOV insanity, I found it hard to care about anything else.

When you are ready for that journey, I can show you the way!

Absolutely cannot wait to see that.

  12. Yeah I'm gonna try to catch it Saturday

  13. Well, I cracked when I saw the sale ran through today lol don't tell my fiancee. If I make some justifications, i can keep it under $80. What are your favorite recs? I know we both like Spookies, Psychos in Love, and Scary Tales. I'm checking everything on Justwatch because so much of it is available on Tubi or Youtube, but ironically, I'm looking at copies of Censor and The Scary of Sixty-First right now (I know, I said it would be ass, I was wrong) which are both streaming. Also deciding between Thriller, A Cruel Picture and Hard Rock Zombies / Slaughterhouse Rock, although I'm still looking.

Night Train to Terror was a blast. The Suckling is super grimy and a lot of fun. All of the Galindo movies (Don’t Panic, Grave Robbers, Cemetery of Terror). Jungle Trap. Home Grown Horrors. Bloody Nose Empty Pockets 100%, I can’t remember if you saw that or not.

I grabbed Rebels of the Neon God, Savage Harvest, Disconnected and The Laughing Dead. A lot of the titles I wanted actually came after January, so I’ll have to wait til November to grab them.

  15. Yeah, Night Train to Terror I'm gonna catch on Tubi and I've got The Suckling and Home Grown Horrors (love that set). Disconnected is weird and wild, excited for you to give that one a watch!

Haha I feel like we overlap so much our recs are useless for each other. More people should check them out!

  17. I really loved The Wolf of Snow Hollow, even if I don't think it all quite came together. I just really enjoy Jim Cummings' style and sense of humor. The Beta Test really worked for me, and I think this one will too after I sit with it for a bit. Still need to find/see Thunder Road.

Villains is okay. Simple premise with some strange decisions, but it's good for a short, quirky watch.

I didn't realize who the creative team was for The Empty Man. Didn't think much of the movie. Don't really get much out of cult shit. Went back and looked at the comic and just adore some of the art. VDR is a gem. Think I might want to read it.

  20. Ughhh. Can't really afford to pick-up rn considering I own the DVDs. 100% worth it though. I had to make the same decision about their WNUF release, which I would like to pick up eventually.

Speaking of which, the WNUF sequel is completed and if you ordered through the Kickstarter, it should get out to you between July and September! Just in time for the holiday!

    Yes. From 1990. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099052/

    I
saw it around that time when I was way too young to see such a movie. I don’t remember much, but I think I recall spiders comings out of sink drains and/or shower heads and that messed me up a little haha

  25. I saw bits of Eight Legged Freaks when I was little and iirc it's more of a comedy but it still scared the shit out of me at the time
