I loveeee All on Fire. I used to think Black Sunday and Queen of the Dark dragged a bit, but I actually came to really enjoy how dark, big, and heavy those songs are.

True Ugly and Night-Tome Walkers are the only songs I feel like I could do without.

I'll write you into all of my songs Supporter

Vaxis II is their best paced record since IKS

For that reason it’s going to be one I most frequently turn to when I crave some Coheed

True Ugly was the last song to click for me on UC. I love it now.
NTW....I dunno. Something about the chorus just kills it for me. I dont know what it is.

I wouldn’t cut any tracks but there’s definitely several I’d cut a couple minutes of repeated choruses out of.

We reach for the longest shadow

Honestly this it. The biggest miss for a song I love on here is that Love Protocol should've saved the "I'm alone, watch me float as I fall" part for the chorus before the bridge or for only the final chorus and not have it repeat after EVERY chorus. It would make that part hit so much harder. They did this more on GA:1, mixing up pre/post choruses to keep you on your toes, specifically with the Apollo suite and The Suffering if I remember correctly.

I think that's the best part of the entire album so nooooooo.

    "I'll chew on a dog!"

The song structures on GA:1 are A++++. It's hard to write a 5+ minute song and really earn it.

It is! It's an awesome part! It would be better by only being sung once or twice. Huge fan of songs only having the choruses repeat two or three times. That leaves you wanting more. One of my favorite choruses ever, Deftones' Passenger, is only sung twice, but it's iconic.

I honestly hate that, haha. There's a few songs I can think of where the best part of the song is only done once or twice and it feels like such a waste lol.

I think it obviously depends on the song but I would be sour about losing that line on "Love Protocol" even once!

Vaxis I is awesome. It is not perfect, but I don't think they've done anything perfect since IKS/GA.

Right now I think Vaxis II is closer to perfect than Vaxis I. Huge YMMV there though.

I almost said this, but if any piece of music is perfect in my eyes, it's those two albums. Grading on a curve scenario.

    Some lyric theory here:
I think A Disappearing Act is Sirius Amory talking to Vaxis.

Completely floored by Ladders of Supremacy each time I hear it. I'm loving new hook focused Coheed, but when they cater to the fans that love the heavier/more prog stuff, I'm such a sucker for it.

"no matter how hard you wanna play, you've always had one foot in the grave. You just want to live, but you were born to lose. Now get up from the rabble (?) and dust off your shoulders. Now its your chance to prove. Climbing up the ladders of their supremacy. Was it everything you had dreamed? Well did you make your mark, or did you let them stand between you and everything." Cool lyrics but the way he sings all that is soooo satisfying.
